What method do you prefer? There is no one best method, it's situational, and can vary based upon your size, arm length, rig geometry etc. But after 1100 plus wingsuits jumps, and some body/line twists wingsuits BASE jumping this has been the best for me to quickly get access above the twists to get heading control(away from cliffs and trees) and then sort out the rest of the twists. Again, just an alternative, but happy to hear why it's the worst and what's your preferred method and why. This is educational, so please don't just make disparaging comments without helping inform others of alternatives you prefer and why, otherwise your comment isn't helpful at all. Cheers!

If you don’t mind me asking. How did you get into the she sport and what where did you start? I’m considering hang gliding and this sport looks so intense but fun

This is my 10th year skydiving and my 5th BASE jumping. Typically you to start by getting your skydiving license by taking a course near you at an airport. In the US, you need 200 skydives and then you can take a first flight course training to start wingsuiting out of a plane. At some point you then get into BASE jumping, either through a course or a mentor that you often find that also skydives. Skydiving is the key, it helps you build many of the skills needed and to build a network within skydiving community that will help you find teachers within the BASE jumping community. It's a much longer progression than hang gliding or paragliding, but there's nothing like it. d​@@felixcandelaria-hernandez5809

Thanks Ray 😊 this was a few seasons ago, and I was terrified of scorpion'ing so I left flat almost head hi, causing a pancake like stall which resulted in the suit wanting to go head low to gain speed and as you observed then I was able to start flying at appropriate AoA. Cheers mate!

Why is that? I think I understand what you're getting at, but for everyone else's benefit, best to be clear on why you think that can be an issue without hard housings.

Nope not too soon. Happened last summer, replaced it with GR Corolla which has been a blast. Sold the parts car to another Porsche buddy who will take advantage of all the mods I had on this car, primarily Ohlins coil overs, RS engine mounts and GT3 control arms. Plus now he has a low miles upgraded motor and tranny.

Yeah she did a great job on the jump, as well as managing her headspace. She was pretty close to a small panic attack but mitigated it, focussed and then performed very well. After some more trips to the bridge and skydiving her one piece tracking suit she's since had a couple good trips to Brento, lauterbrunnen, and the dolomites. Cheers!

"just a skydiver" :) silly, thats a big deal and tons of fun. I really enjoyed you talking through your assessment of the situation, and good eye, there was indeed a stronger wind left to right from the exit that caught her off-guard. the green field to the right is a marshy area that is under water 9 months of the year, so landing in it is messy and sometimes knee deep mud. she was supposed to land on the beach about 30 ft further forward from where she actually landed, but the strong headwind, and her light wing loading didnt let her go that far. she did a great job adjusting and nailing the landing on a much smaller area. having the skills, experience and quick, good judgement abilities is critical to BASE jumping as the landing zones are often littered with hazards and the winds can often surprise, and there isnt a windsock like at a skydiving drop zone :) blue skies!

Yeah, most jumps when you're newer, or at a new exit point tend to be like this. But most people don't have the patience to see the full experience, but glad you enjoyed it.
