Thrawn was in the middle of a massive battle against the biggest Rebel fleet when Vader's Revenge appeared behind Thrawns fleet and moved through it and at the Rebel fleet. The Galaxy soon heard of the return of Vaders fleet and rumours soon got around saying that we returned from the dead to avenge Darth Vader and we let them happen because that is exactly we did"

The last 20 seconds of the Clonewars animated series framed up Vader so much differently than than I'd perceived him before. I could never see the two characters as being even tangentially connected given the mannerism changes, but glimpsing Anakin's eyes through the visor glass hit different. That single moment bridges the two characters, and it's changed everything in Starwars for me.
