Yeah I want a buffalo shirt mikey and ash, just saying 😁
Lovely Ep and lovely Country you visited
Been waiting for this one 🙌
Willare Bridge Roadhouse is the servo after Roebuck Plains. Got smoked by a big Barra about 100m down from the bridge last year 🎣
That’s it I had a mind block. Cheers mate 💯👌🎣🍻🍻
Some great life experience and stories Snaga. Great to hear about them. Thanks for catching up with the Guys. Mikey’s Dad.
Most welcome such great Blokes 💯👌🍻
On ya Snagga, tour guiding the amount of work it takes almost takes the fun out of it hey. I know from being an active hunter then turning to a Wild Game Harvesting business out of the Gulf turns it to hard work. The only thing I can reflect of it is your always out in beautiful Country taking in something different each day of what Country dishes up to you. Well done mate. I personally miss it big time being based in Darwin now. Your a Champion Snagga enjoying life mate what you love, Good stuff Bud.
Thanks Steve 💯🎣🍻🍻
On Ya Snagga.
Thanks mate 💯👌🎣🍻🍻
It was great to see Snaga on the channel. It's good to hear his back story, too. Thanks for a great yarn.
Yea, he is full of surprises isn’t he. Great bloke too. 👍🏼
Great podcast guys. Snaga, I reckon I will see you in April. You still need to talk reels with me though, the offer is still there.
Absolutely John not a problem 💯🎣🍻🍻
Hi guys, Im coming to KAB ion 1st January 2025 and wanted to know what the barra fishing is like. We plan to head over to the twins area and spend a few nights on the boat over there. If the river is up is it still good barra fishing????? Dave
Mate, the 1st January... need a crystal ball to work out how your trip will be. It's obviously in the heart of the wet season, so there won't be many people around. The club usually opens briefly 3 nights a week if you need a schooner... and the servo is usually open one hour a day for you to stock up on supplies... Most of the time you can usually get in and out of King Ash Bay. If you get stuck somewhere because of roads flooding, it's USUALLY for only a day or 2. Not trying to scare you off. Once you're here, if the river is in flood, you'll usually want to find cleaner water for Barra fishing. The twins, like you mentioned is a good option. I hope this helps. -Cheers, Mikey
Thanks Mikey, I thought as much. We are heading up so hopefully the twins is not too bad. Really appreciate the response mate. 👍
I can’t answer for KAB never been before. I would take the advice from Mikey 💯🎣🍻🍻
The most interesting and informative podcast mikey and ash have presented l❤snaga
Thanks Cliff 💯👌🍻🎣🎣
He certainly has a lot of knowledge, and the best part is he enjoys sharing it.
What a yarn! Great job gents. I enjoyed the podcast over beers as well🍻 Mikey, thanks for the heads up with the podcast at mamas kitchen. awesome!!! 👊 🎣 😂 🍻
Thanks Glenn 💯👌🍻🎣🎣
Cheers mate... it was good to catch up the other day. Glad you enjoyed the podcast. Make sure to head over to Snaga's channel and give him a follow if you haven't already. -Cheers, Mikey
Awesome stories and a top bloke to boot Great podcast Cheers for it
Thanks Trent 💯👌🍻🎣🎣
Great chat with Dave. Wyndham is certainly isolated. I have had lunch there and Derby jetty 11m tides. Places like fitzroy crossing, Gibb River Road and one arm point. Fascinating country. Broome is very much a tourist town. But would have been quieter when Dave lived there.🤠👌👍👍
Thanks Chris 💯👌🍻🎣
Great chat guys. Snaga has some very interesting stories and a top bloke with it. He has definitely inspired me to spend a few weeks in Wyndham next year. Bring it on.
Thanks Stu 💯🍻🎣
Onya Stu... Snaga is an absolute legend mate. And knows his stuff too. I can see Wyndham on everyone's bucket list now thanks to Snaga.
Awesome Ep and chat guys Talking to Dave his channel is up there.
Thanks Craig 💯👌🍻🎣🎣
He can only go up from here mate. The quality of his content is great... and constantly improving... and the fishing... well, we can all sit back and watch the amazingness transpire in his videos. Absolute wizard when it comes to Barramundi.
@@GuysintheGulfPodcast I Towed my 5m tinny up to McGowans few months back I stayed nearly a month fishing. was a awesome spot, on the way home I called to Wyndham to track Dave down but it was early I found where he lived I did not want to annoy him, Ive met Andy Carne he's came to my house for a cuppa, I should waited and met Dave to. I love you two Stallions podcasts.
Alright, Mikey, Ash, you guys are just the thing I need today to give me some perspective and distraction. Dave, I envy you your isolation right about now, cool to hear about Wyndham, I have been fascinated by your area for a while, sounds amazing... you lucky devils.
Thanks Dario 💯👌🍻🎣🎣
Being in remote areas definitely does have it's benefits mate. Thanks for watching. Cheers, Mikey
Yep yep, No beers boys, what’s going on…
This was a morning recording session, but Andy hasn't had a drink in years... so we were on our best behavior mate.
Lovely Ep and awesome setup and areas guys. Love the Kimberley Area
❤
Onya legends living the dream
what happend to weekly drops
We try our best mate. Ash and I do live 1,000km apart... so it's not always possible.
Great laughs ❤
Our longest ever podcast, and probably the most beers consumed... haha. We miss Jack already.
Defiantly the best one yet. Good on ya fellas.
Yea we had great fun making this one.
James Johnston is a local around here Mikey and you’re right he’s good
Boys, all the guides in northern Spain think you are brilliant, we're coming to see you all at king ash soon, keep uo the good work, we're loving it
Northern Spain? Crikey... We're glad you're enjoying it from the other side of the world.
Mikey pray tell, what's 'run off' fishing? And why is a called the poison? From us fishing guides in northern spain
Hi mate, the "run off" is around February to April... when all of the flood waters run off the massive floodplains after the wet season. And all the smaller baitfish and other small critters are breeding up there and have no choice but to head back down into the rivers and creeks, where the Barramundi will be waiting. It all depends on each rivers catchment area and how much rain has fallen in each catchment. Typically at King Ash Bay on the McArthur River we don't get much of a runoff. The Poison Creek... No idea how it got it's name. But there is a rock bar inside there that a lot of boats hit... So the name might have been a deterrent to people years ago. Maybe?
Stripey is a great name for a racing greyhound. The number 2 box is referred to as the cheques/checks{not sure of spelling} by the race callers. Get it off the ground and I would quite happily join the syndicate.
Stripey wins 30% of the time, every time!!! Haha... Stay tuned mate... this will be a plan for the future for sure... Maybe 2026
We’re in Mackay so if they’re this way and need something let us know
Top episode I had to watch it over 3 days
Haha, yea it was our longest yet. Thanks for the commitment to sticking with it mate.
Best one yet legends. That young man has an awesome story to tell his grandkids. That's what it's all about 👍🏿
Great chat . Are you blokes sponsored by Great Northern if not you should be 🤣👍
I reckon we would be good candidates for Great Northern sponsorship... except I reckon in their advertising they have to promote "responsible drinking" etc... which doesn't really suit us unfortunately.
Good one lads what's the rum
I'm not entirely sure mate. We will need to get Big Pete on the poddy. He's responsible for all the fancy bottles we drink.
what he does not want the Bundaberg experince , rum city ?
Awesome Guys,,,,BEST episode ever,,,I sure hope Jack comes back again,,What a Top Bloke.
Lovely Ep and chat Gents

Hi Mickey and Ash well my wife and I have decided to make the big move from Sydney to Darwin now that I’m retired although I spent every holiday for the last 20years Barra fishing Throughout the Kimberley’s and Arnhem Land .So we do love the north Hope you can give me a few tips on local fishing spots around Darwin One thing for sure is we are not going to Live in Fannie Bay.Should be up there near the end of the wet
Ray Stevensg I sent sorrysang the son
Great show guys. Where's the mullet add song don't go fishing with a man who's been drinking
Happy Birthday Ash! I worked at Mt Isa and was drinking at the Barkley, is that named after you guy's? It wasn't much different to some of our old day pubs at Logan City.
Happy Birthday Ash, Mikey love your videos and your shirts are great I have two. I love it up at King Ash Bay the locals are so friendly and we have been there three times and can't wait for the fourth. I live in Central Queensland at Boyne Island and look forward to the winters in the Gulf. Could I ask a question, I have a 3.7m Sea Jay tinny and is it possible on a good day to get out far enough to catch Goldies or as we know them here as Finger Mark, great eating fish?
happy birthday big Fella...... do what you do best. thanks Boyz
