AWWW! They think they are royalty! 😢❤😊
That was incredible! Ya'll are my heroes!
Thank you. It was really an adventure
All your animals are amazing 🤩😍 and beautiful
We love them. Thanks for watching.
Lovely chickens!
They really think they are some big stuff😂
Yes they do. 😂 Thanks for watching.
Your egg turner is not on .
You are right. I finally caught it and we got it going.🤦♀🤪😀Thanks for watching.
How many them creatures do you have?
11 goats, many chickens, a cat and a dog. Thanks for watching
I thought you was done with the YT? But I reckon it's hard to stay away and all. Glad you is back!
yea, I'm managing it all through Rumble. Thanks for watching.
Thought you had left RUclips.. Not a big fan of those greenhouses but they do work and I would definantley reinforce the framing with 2x4 and 4x4 framing :)
That's great that you can trim their hooves instead of hiring it out. All those chickens 🥰
It isn't difficult and it is nice to do it when we need to get it done. Last year I was trying to reduce the flock. I think I still have somewhere around 40. Chicken math is real!😛🥰Thanks for watching.
I love when they’re all fluffy with their winter coats as well 💖
They are so adorable with their fluff. Thanks for watching.
It's great to get an update, sis! I'll keep an eye out for your videos on rumble.
Why y'all going away from YT, aint that where your largest audience and ad revenue be at? I'll miss seeing them videos of yours on RUclips
If you watch the whole video she explains.
Excellent video
Thank you. We love our Cochins. We need to do an update.
So cute, can't wait for our kidding season to start in May. We're still under 3' of snow in Northern Utah!
The snow has been amazing this year. Utah needs the water. I will never winter kid again. That being said. They are so much fun. Thanks for watching.
So great sis! 👍
Thank you 😋
your* can't spell XD

Thank you so much for watching. Easter eggers are fun chickens with great personalities. I will have to get the floof shirt back in my shop. My daughter does the art for them. You can see our merch at hubcityhomestead.com. Have fun with your little fluff butts. :)
Sandi Brock puts her cold lambs in a large plastic glove or bag, then into the water
Yes, my daughter was just trying to get the baby warm and I was outside. I was going to have her do that. It is such a good way to get them warm. and keep the smell on them. I know you commented this forever ago but it just showed up. Thanks for watching.
This is very interesting. I’ve done this with old fall jackets also. This year I made dog coats using a pattern and made the outer layer a plastic shower curtain, and an old quilt in the middle layer, and a layer of thin fleece on the inside. They are flat and can be fastened around the chest. And they need a tie under the belly. I think I overdid it. It reminds me of a puffy snow suit for the baby goats. 😆😆😆. It’s a mild night. They are in a snug stall with their mummy. They will be alright. Thanks for the fun video.
Thank you for watching. That is fun. Keeping them warm is the goal.
@@hubcityhomestead I cut down the size of the jacket, took out a layer of batting, ( I had two quilt layers and took out one!🤣), added an elastic band under the belly. Now they fit the goats. One got his front legs tangled in his so I fixed it. I was going to take them off but when I put my hand under the jacket, I felt how perfectly warm they were! It is snowy and cold out so I kept them on and I’ll just keep an eye on them. Hope you are having fun with your goats.
@@pattysherwood7091 I would love the see a picture. You could email me at hubcityhomestead@gmail.com
@@hubcityhomestead i will do that. I’ll try to remember to take pictures.♥️
💙 thank you!
You're welcome 😊
You are the GOAT.
No but thank you Sis.
Hay ..Really Lovely 😍..I have collect chick's this variant..let's take care 🙂, From bangladesh 🇧🇩
Love these little birds. Thanks for watching
Have you considered using hydrated lime to store your eggs instead of a refrigerator? You can buy a 50 pound bag at home depot for about $20 and store the eggs in lime water. That's what we will be doing next year.
that is something I have seen. I am not sure if I will like it. I should try it to see. Thanks Tyler.
Sounds like a good culling is in order, get you some actual layers for your climate, preserve eggs during the warm months, and use them during winter. Thats what momma done growing up. Dont be throwing your money away on cat food. Can't always believe the YT fairytale others be preaching!
I think you may be right. I got all starry eyed about all the different kind of chickens. The light sussex was suppose to be my year round layer but I discovered that many of the American light sussex have been bred for show and have lost their really good laying ability and that was disappointing because I really do love them. Thank you for your comments. I really have appreciated them.
What is your target protein content for your chickens? The cat food is 30% right? But are you feeding that in addition to their normal feed? If you were feeding 2:1 with a 17% protein base feed you're only getting up to 21% protein. If you feed 1:1 you're at 23.5% protein.
It may not be making much of a difference. I had a really comment that recommended culling and getting better egg layers. I agree. I just love all of the colors. Math is not my strong point but I think I got what you were saying. Thank you.
Ouchies.. I only have 6 hens and am still learning
Hey Cousin! Chickens are fun and the addiction can be real. Have fun with your little flock. thanks for watching.
Can you do an update on feeding them hens cat food. We was wanting to see if we should do something different for our hens, seeing as store eggs are so pricey.
I will do that. My daughter has been inconsistent in feeding them the cat food so I will do a video where I am the one feeding them the cat food daily and a second video with the results. Thank you for interest and I will make sure we get you an update.
You gonna milk them goats too like the others even though they ain't purebred?
Yes. We will milk every one. We have some purebred goats and they don't produce that much milk but I have some mixed breeds that are amazing when it comes to milk. Thanks for watching.
Why y'all feeding them layers cat food and their own eggs?
That is a great question. If I have eggs cracked and I am not going to use them soon I will throw them on the ground to break them up and it allows the chickens to have the protein from the egg. It is important to break them so the chickens don't start cracking open their own eggs. The cat food was a suggestion from another homesteader who doesn't like to use additional light in the winter to have her chickens lay. If the chickens are getting enough protein they will lay a bit more in the winter than they normally would. I don't expect them to lay a lot but if I can get a dozen a week from my 25 chickens, through the winter, then my family will have the eggs we need. Thank you for watching. I really do appreciate the question.
I love your video. Sadly the Info about the cochins as the relatives to the bigger ones is wrong. As the bantams are not related to the Standard ones at all. The Standards are just human bred to just look like the original bantams. The bantams are the true form and way older.
Thank you for the information. This video is several years old and we are grateful for more up to date information. We love our little cochins.
Our Easter Eggers are 9 weeks old, and we are just loving them. I really enjoyed seeing your grown EE's to get an idea of what ours may look like. They really are the sweetest chickens! Thanks for a great video! 🐔❣
Thank you for watching. We love them. The eggs are just as fun as the chickens. Enjoy!
Great Job Repurposing those PALLETS….we use pallets for lots of projects! Visit soon. Wonderful!
They are such a great resource and so inexpensive. I am really excited to get this project finished. Thanks for watching.
We were doing corn too, and the corn was doing fine until we got water restrictions, and the corn ended up stunted and shriveled :( fortunately our spaghetti squash flourished!
Spaghetti squash is so yummy! Darn water restrictions. Thanks for watching, Sis! Love you.
I bred a red rooster to a white hen and got offspring that have the same pattern as Zipper!
That is awesome! She is the sweetest little chicken. It is fun to mix them up and see what you get.
🇨🇦❤️Good morning! You are in for lots of work but lots of FUN!
Morning! Yes, but I love the babies. Thanks for watching.
Our little girl passed very sad
That is very sad. These little birds are so sweet and cute. It will be hard for us when they pass.
So cute!
Silkies are really adorable chickens. Thanks for watching.
I really like the pallet and t-posts. I've been needing to figure out a way to give the dogs access to their area and keep our lambs out and a vertical sliding pallet door might be just what I need.
It is super easy and super cheap. It would work great for a temporary fix with your animals. I'm glad I could bring a solution to you. Thanks for watching.
Ooooh nice
Thanks. I'd never pressure canned before and I was glad it turned out well.
Love a GOOD Moving Day! Watching from Gander Newfoundland and Labrador Canada!
You guys are awesome. It is great seeing what you are doing up there.
Shalom! It is so nice to see a real family video. Putting those numbers up to let folk know this belongs to your brother and family. Hatching those chicks out is always so exciting a great miracle from the Lord. Thank you all for sharing and blessings from Norco in southern California.
Thank you for your wonderful and kind words. I love my family and baby animals. Thank you for watching.
Nice to meet your Chickens! How often do these lay?
We get 4+ eggs from each of our Black Copper Marans per week. They really are beautiful eggs.
You are incorrect in calling the breed a bantam cochin, it is a true bantam, not a miniaturised cochin, it has no corresponding large fowl breed. Its true name is a Pekin Bantam and it originated in China.
The information we were finding was telling us this information. Thank you for helping us provide correct information and thank you for watching.
how long does it take to the roster to be able to fertilize eggs ?
It is easiest for them when they are big enough to be able to mate with the hen. Around 4 months is for sure when they should be able to mate. Some breeds may do it before then.
Y'all getting a lot of goats. You mentioned winter feed. Do you grow hay away from your property or do you buy it all?
We buy all of our winter feed. We only have 1/4 acre property. Our friends are a great blessing and allow us to summer pasture our goats and that saves us a bunch of money on feeding through the summer. We get snowy winters and have to feed through those months. Thanks for watching!
Nice farm and such friendly animals. Wonderful for the kids to experience so many babies and fresh air. Gorgeous country view, sky, and farm life.
Yes, we love it here and love having friends that can share their animals with us, also. Thank you for watching.
Your friend Rachel nice to let you come and visit all them animals. When that calf be born you gonna upload some video of that too?
I'm certainly going to try. We are out there quite often.
I'm super interested to see the outcome! We only have one horned goat in the herd and I'd love to try this on her.
Yep, definitely do an update on this a little later.
So adorable. Thank you for sharing all this delightful info, I learned a few things I didn't know about.
I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching.
