Meet Odelma Matos, founder and CEO of La Faraona Cigars, a company she founded to foster the things she loves and bring traditional Cuban Cigar making too many. Odelma was born in Cuba and started rolling cigars with her father ,at 16. She grew to love the process and develop her skills to become a Master Cigar Roller, a very high honor. A master roller is not just the most skilled roller, they also control the process of tobacco selection and blending. Odelma and her family emigrated to the United States in 2010. Working as a roller for some of the Ybor City cigar shops, she worked hard and saved to open her own shop in 2011, La Faraona Cigars.
Odelma knows that making and smoking a cigar is an experience, one she continues to share with locals and visitors to Ybor City. Now with two locations; The La Faraona Cigar Factory at 1515 E 7th Ave and The La Faraona Cigar Lounge at 1315 E 7th Avenue, also in Ybor City. and the new lounge offer the very best in hand rolled premium cigars.

Available on our website sign up for the Cigar Rolling Experience, three hours of fun. You will learn to make ten cigars from leaves and then wrap them. During the session you will enjoy the beverage of your choice and a fine cigar. You will take home ten cigars that you made by hand!

Fiesta Day 2023 in Ybor City Odelma sat down and made 30 Panatella cigars and then twisted them to make 10 Culebra cigars. This is not something you get to see very often. She was in front of her store, La Faraona Cigars 1515 E 7th Ave. Ybor City.

Her passion for cigars shows in her craft. The quality of her cigars is amazing and has really captured my interest. The staff is knowledgeable and so kind. The cigar rolling experience should be at the top of your To Do List when visiting Tampa.
