And also i wanted to clarify some point so you don’t get too lost in the story ; Otalis died because his body -although it’s an anomly, couldn’t support the surnatural strenght of the crystal hidden behind the door (genshin door) In the last scene where he is appearing, his body is “glitching” /decomposing, in another terms. Vain did not make the choice to revive Otalis due to his inability to think clearly about the plenty of wishes he could’ve made.
(We can notice his confusion when he hesitates and think twice before actually confirming his choice)
