so should I mount a light behind blind so I can see what I'm doing? Can you show how far this sticks out on a real window, not a show room
Hi Amanda! No, you shouldn’t need to mount a light. We recommend changing out the battery wand during the day so you have the daylight coming through the window. You can also try gently lifting the shade up and away from the window by hand rather than raising it to its uppermost position to give increased visibility. If you are using the rechargeable wand, we find that the swap can mostly be done by touch, feeling for the end that has the wire plugged in then pull down from the opposite end. Because of the magnet, there aren’t any clips or buttons you need to look for. Can’t stand my hunter Douglas electric shades. Always failing even with new batteries, they’re about 10 years old so uses 10 C sized batteries. Three blinds just won’t do anything anymore. Wish I’d never bought them. Never any problems with old fashioned string pulled blinds. Avoid these motorized junk blinds.
Hi Steve, your situation sounds understandably frustrating! We encourage our customers to go with a different power option than batteries for that reason. Have you reached out to Hunter Douglas or the company you originally purchased the shades from to see if they can assist?
