that is not a clog that is an wooden sole a Clog is a shoe made entirly out of wood just like the wooden shoes (Clogs) made in the Netherlands (holland for the people accross the Ocean west side of the UK neighboring Canada)
Bud.. if your not slapping recycled car tires on the bottom of the clog and donating 20% to charity.. you need too lol. Those influences will make you a millionaire
Very enjoyable. I paused the video at the closeups of the different knives. I am an amateur blacksmith as part of lifes journey, and I will be making my own. Not so much for shoes, but for all kinds of things like furniture, etc. These knives are unparalleled in that regard. I wish there was more on the knives!!! Best, LG
Bet you’ve always got plenty of kindling 😊
Why is the top of the shoe tie area off the floor like that it’s cool how they are made
Cymru ar ei gorau. Mor arbennig o fod yno sw ni'n meddwl..
Don't be wearing a kilt and try that. Otherwise, very educational.
Incredible video! Thank you so much! I'm trying to learn to make bows, arrows, tool handles, etc.
That looks very awkward to use. I think I would end up in ITU
Never even knew the Welsh wore clogs, now theyre even more like fantasy people
Так куётся российское оружие.
I’ve never seen anything like this before 👍 Really cool. Looks like a lot of hard work.
Not going to lie. This is freaking cool.
En patois occitan un sabots et los esclòps
En France en Auvergne nous avions les mêmes outils pour fabriquer les sabots
Brilliant old skill. Lovely tools too. Excellent. Subscribed.
If the handle on the knife were bent up instead of down, you would have more leverage and not have to bend over to make cuts...
Craftsmanship is wonderful
4:18 wery good idea have in plastic ore metal😮
Nice👍
💯👍🌹
Can you not get a left hand knife?
On top of your work, I like your work jacket. Looks very good on you, sturdy and practical. Can you share the brand name and review video?
Jeremy Atkinson. The best clog maker in the world.
Did you make part 2 very nice work
The tire on the shaving/workbench is such a great idea...
In answer to your question Richard, the angle of the cast is determined by what is comfortable when you walk. A flat sole on a shoe with no flex will make you walk like a deep sea diver. A clog with a very high cast at the front will have you tottering along. Somewhere in between you can fall forward just by leaning forward and then as you stride your back foot is lifting off the ground just as the toe kisses the ground . It feels great, I your stride lengthens compared to shoes that flex.
Very interesting, and some unique tools here, that knife / hook setup cuts that sycamore like a potato! . Question, how do you work out the angles that best suit the foot for walking? Thanks and thanks for uploading this.
Nice clean knives especially for their age, a beautiful craft, may your trade never pass away , a joy to watch !.
No idea how I ended up here, but I’m glad I did.
Using those tools, you really, REALLY have to be able to read the flow of the grain to avoid splitting chunks out. Superb craftsmanship!
You wont split chunks out of that sycamore, listen to what the man says, it's green. 4:32 you can practically see the moisture coming out as he cuts. It's like cutting soap.
Their BGT version of this was their best performance in my opinion but has the fewest views on RUclips
Maravilloso!! Conmovedor!! Felicitaciones y mil gracias!!!
Wonderful to watch
What language is in the subtitles? Welsh?
@tfuntowatch - Yes, it's Welsh.
WOW 👏 absolutely fantastic.! 👌 🏴❤
Fantastic!
Just beautiful! The harmonies....brought tears to my eyes. Wish I had been there to hear it live
Such a beautiful language...excellent director, as well!
just wonderful
Bendigedig, Magnificent.
Loved it
Amazing! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻. Since the first time you guys sing in the BGT, I could not forget you! I am still feel so touching every time when I hear your angelic voices! I still recognise some of the faces inside this video appeared in the BGT. Please keep on singing these beautiful songs to the world! Wish you all good health! Good luck! Tony from HK
i remember me & school mate,s,going into a clog shop in whitehaven cumbria in the 70s & early 80s, & i bought my first pair of clogs there, & even though he,s been dead since about 1984 i recently saw a pair of clogs in a secondhand shop that were my size, & i knew right away that they had been made by the old clogger i new all them year,s ago, they were red leather, but i dyed them black, when they were clearing the shop out after his death, there was a skip outside, that i got allsorts of things out of, metal calker,s, rubber bottoms, leather lace,s, etc, if he was putting rubber sole,s & heels on, he would use the manufacured clog soles, that he bought in, but used the side walls off car tyres, where there is no wire running threw the rubber, only thin string & when we as school kids needed the heels re- rubberd, ( cos he allways told us to never let them wear down that far that the wood started to wear away.cos he would have to build the edge up with leather) he would tell us to go get him a tyre from a car tyre fitting place, not far away. & he would do our heels for free, we often took off school to go sit in his shop, esp on rainy days, & would tell us to run up his stair,s & keep quiet, if we happend to see,out the window, before he seen us, what we called the ( schoolboard man) that would come looking for us & take us back to school, that we avoided every time, lol, the whole shop & house was a living museum, with nothing, changed,( not even most of the wallpaper on the walls) since the late 1800s, his sister lived there with him, & they sat in a tiny kitchen at the back.that had a lovely coal fired range, that they would cook on, & boil the kettle by hanging it over a hook above the fire, the premises is now seperate from the shop, 2'flats, & the shop itself is a place where women get stickon nails put on, which to me is a massive down-grade to what was once made here, strong comfortable footwear that if looked after will last for year.s, & the best thing you could ever wear on ya feet.. thanks for the video
Yes that was Mr Brew. He told me that the day he finished his training was the day he stopped handcarving. Too much like hard labour.
@@jeremyatkinson4976 yes it was mr brew, (lancelot brew,) & his sister that lived with him,( sarah ann brew,) who are both now buried together in whitehaven cemetry,
You cannot beat clogs i wear em everyday i have afew diffrent styles ..
Bendigedig.
Primitive language never sounded so depressing. no wonder it always rains in Wales. 🤮
Bollocks.
The difference is that they can speak Welsh and English. Can you speak decent English?
Beautiful language- Tolkien acknowledged is as the most beautiful, so had Welsh names and sounds in Lord of the Rings. It is the native British language, English is Germanic. It rains a lot in Manchester and many parts of England that lack Wales' scenery- Wales is green, lovely and refreshed. No doubt you are jealous of Wales, its singing and musicality.
Pen piglen
Says the English water thief
Very interesting, Brian made that look easy but it has to be so difficult to learn. Great video.
Nice work Brian
Bendigedig
Amazing, thank you- you are all bendigedig!
