Moto Guzzi V8 at the Sammy Miller Museum
During an open day at his motorcycle museum one of the many bikes that Sammy Miller started and rode around a small circuit was a rare 1957 Moto Guzzi V8 race bike. As well as being able to see and hear this fabulous bike running, Sammy talks afterwards about his experiences racing one.

Saw the Guzzi in about 1955 at the Southern 100, with Bill Lomas in the saddle. I was only 9 yrs old but I’ve never forgotten it!
The sound, wow what an amazing bike and let’s not forget the equally amazing Sammy👏🏻
If I remember correctly they used to call them dustbin fairings...
A remarkable piece of engineering in it's time. This particular bike looks amazing close up.
187 MPH in 1957. Amazing.
I've watched many vids of the Guzzi V8 over the years. They never sound like they're firing on all 8. Like 2 dead cylinders are playing tug-of-war with 6 good ones.

sorry , too old these men for to schow and to race correctly this bike ..Respect but...
But what? Have you ever ridden in a GP, been a world champion trials rider? Sammy has and he's still quick when he wants to be.
Is that a real one ?.
Yes, there is no other kind.
Sounds sick,not for competition.
Kevin Dustbin Fairings were the thing then
500cc V8 bike, is there anything cooler than this?
Please!! Don't make me laugh , It looks like the faring belongs on a boat ! Honda would have messed that thing up! Better take that home to mom mom!
why is he fapping the gas like a virgin teen?
Il nonnetto che continua a sgasare, girando in tondo come in una giostra, con un MITO del genere, perdonatemi ma lo trovo patetico e mortificante per una moto come la V8.
I do have a few more vids but it was my first time with the camera so I was still getting used to how it works! Probably the best I have is of the Ducati MotoGP and the description of it by the gentleman who brought it along; unfortunately I don't know his name.
That was a good day. A friend of mine, Gary Jenkins, organised the event, he is holding the mic behind Sammy Miller. Do you have anymore footage form the day? Gary took three bikes to the event and along with another friend, we had to ride them around the little circuit. I am sure he'd like to see his bikes being ridden but we weren't able to get any film. In your film, I am standing to the right in the black T shirt and later had the dubious honour of riding a tiny moped around.
I know this was 8 years ago but I took a few videos that day. Any clues as to which bikes?
