It is the same larger divine design which put me in the exceptionally competent and passionate hands of Dr Ambrish Mithal, in SGPGI Lucknow, in 1995, from the day one, when I was diagnosed for Type-II diabetes, for the first time, in a random check up. I am amongst his those lucky patients, who did succeed in reversing his diabetes and managed it without any medication for good ten years till about 2005, on the basis of diet and exercise alone and who, along with for other parameters, has maintained charts of his bone density and vitamin D tests since 1995 till date. Dr Mithal is that rarest of the rare, perfect combination of being an exceptionally gifted, bright, dedicated and passionate professional; whose heart beats for every patient, whose head is glued to research and innovations and who treats with a disarming smile, even during his most tense and busiest moments. Worth listening every spoken word with one’s heart and brain. Fortunate to have been associated with Dr Ambrish since 1976 who is a close friend and a mentor to me . He is a great clinician, academician , orator and above all a very humble human being ( and has been the same since 1976 ) Younger clinician will definitely gain just by listening again and again to his views on clinical practice and imbibing them in their day to day practice
