big red with the music project. I suspect that this is early '68 with a definite slant toward bubblegum style. Writer credits to Paul Hertel, (who owned the South Bend label). Tantalizingly close to Paul Bartels (and if you get that reference, I should be your fan!). This is the B-side and is easier on the ears than the "you turn me on" plug side.

Randy Benjamin - Lovin' Man on Hollywood. Benjamin, hailing from Vincennes, IN., had several releases on national labels (Valiant, Mercury, Viva) in the mid to late '60s. This, I believe is his own label in 1972.

Bill Hoffman - Harvest Records - possibly 1965, from the La Porte / Michigan City area. Straddling that fine line between country and garage. Hard acre publishing is worth checking out, with Bare Facts / She & the Dutchmen / Tommy Payton and others having great tunes related with that.

Clifford Curry - Big Orange Country - on the N.E.W. label outta Indianapolis, known for mostly country offerings. Clifford hailed from Nashville, TN and I have no idea how he ended up on this label in 1973. Jerry Lee Williams (label co-owner) passed a few years ago and I can't ask him now about it. If you are a Tennessee Vols fan, you'll dig this.

A bit funky, a little bluesy and a rocker. I was too dead to live, but this resuscitated me.
Midwest sunshine pop. Sounds like The Buckinghams from Chicago and The Association from L.A. The vocals/backing vocals and harmonies sound way advanced for a garage band.

Reminiscent of Buddy Holly's 'Maybe Baby' with an Everly Bros harmony. Nothing amazing about it, but nothing wrong with it.
Groovy, baby. Interesting choice of a place to pose for the album cover - trellis and birdhouse and all - I wonder if it was the studio's yard.
This may not be an album cover, it looks more likely to be a postcard sized publicity photo that acts autographed and gave out to fans. The words "For Infomation" at bottom right would be followed by the agents/ managers name and number etc.

I agree with another commentator that it is reminiscent of 'Twist and Shout,' and the organ lends it a tinge of 'Louie Louie.'

I'm not a musician, I don't have the vocabulary or experience. I'm just saying it as best I can. I hear them REALLY JAMMING. Thy're playing their asses off.
