Yakuza 1/Kiwamis Story is weak and aged poorly. I still love the game but the plot definitely didnt age well.

I like 4 for adding some really cool new characters, but the story is absolute nonsense bullshit(and not even a fun way), and playing all 4 characters in the same city is just dull dull dull.

I really dont like when people put Y3 so low. It was so revolutionary for the series coming into the PS3 era and people compare it to the more modern entries and think its borderline unplayable. It has a good story (granted, it starts slow) and the only real main issue is the blocking, which can be easily fixed by not doing the same combo string 6393759 times in a row and claim "BLOCKUZA!!!1!1?1"

Never skip 3, for me it felt like Kiriyus reward after all the bullshit he had to go through. I loved the idea of him taking the role of his adopted father but instead him raising the kids to be better then he was. Rikias death was heart breaking since to Kiriyu he was just a kid that idolized him, the side story with him getting back tattoo finished by the man who did Kiriyus tattoo made the connection deeper imo. 3 is kinda a slog but the story and side characters are something you can’t miss.

Since I just finished Yakuza 0, Yakuza stuff has been getting recommended to me everywhere lol LAD was actually my first, and I played IW before going into the rest of the series as well, so I think IW especially gives me a kind of different perspective on the rest of the series, but I definitely loved 0 and I will jump into Kiwami... soonish.

In my view, playing Yakuza Kiwami before 0 is better. Cuz Yakuza 0 is a masterpiece where Kiwami is the remake of the first game of the series. Definitely it’ll feel less than 0 and any other games of the Saga.

Great video and very informative. I think you are a good talker and got me more hyped. This game looks incredible. If I am been super brutally honest with you and myself, I did not know what to think about a pirate yakuza game(I was not disappointed, just probably not as excited as I should be). But, you did a good job explaining that Majima is a goofy and outrageous character, so it makes sense. I am excited about everything that is in the game, from customization, to go-kart racing, to coliseum. I may be wrong, but I think I remember you on a past video saying that you wasn't big on fanservice and you are not really big on hostesses. I like those, but can understand if anyone thinks they don't really belong in a yakuza game, or is played out. The combat looks sick. What is insane, is that Majima was probably already the fastest and most nimble character in yakuza(Other than Sotaro Komaki in yakuza 3-5) and in this game, he looks cartoonishly fast, even in gameplay.

When you write this are you high? The games you mentioned the best in the series, where you praised are ridiculously low. Whereas one of the best game you rank number 2 is not a traditional Yakuza game. The metrics you use to rate is also weird.

I really didn’t like Kiwami, felt like a quick cash grab from Sega when they saw great sales number and greenlit the remake without giving them much time. Game could’ve been so much better if they straighten out few characters and give more time to Jingu. I think after seeing sales figure from western countries made them put effort on Kiwami 2.

I hope they announce a steam port of Lost Paradise.

I hope Yakuza 6 and Kiwami 2 get the Judgment treatment. These first two games using the Dragon Engine should be optimized for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Maybe they'll do that when they bring Dragon Engine games to the Switch 2.

I am expecting some Yakuza Kiwami Switch gameplay, something to do with the prime video series, and at least 1 game announcement

The things I'm expecting at the RGG Summit are Yakuza 1 & 2 HD Edition PC Port, Yakuza 3 Kiwami, Kurohyou 1 & 2 Remastered PC Port, Fist of The North Star Lost Paradise PC Port, Yakuza Kenzan Kiwami/Remastered and more spin-off games.

If yakuza 3 ever gets the Kiwami treatment it would probably be better. I love it majorly because the story is just so arguably wholesome and fun but man is it dated

Dude, I finally played this game the story is soooo good! Jesus, I liked all the Yakuza games' stories, but my fav was Zero and this game gave me the exact same chills. Judgment series is definitely a must play for Yakuza fans.
