Hi Russ , which Lip Balm are u using? I wanna try too
🤣
Hi Russ, can we start the guided tour from anywhere on screen using any icon beside any field rather than open it from the help icon at the top? Thank you
in the last display u16 where is this ?
Simplest thing like automating a template selection for a normal change is so hard here... Please help. Thanks
Incoming Webhook is retrired by Microsoft and it's recommended to use workflow instead, Thanks
Very useful, thank you!👏
This was soooo helpful. I've been looking for something like this. Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
very helpful video thx
So PAD can be used only in Workspace??
Thanks for sharing mate, cheers!
Nice one chaps, "storming out of Ikea" made me laugh, didn't know about there being no Creatorcon this year, that's a shame, it was my favourite day last year!
Standard whilst dealing with a tweenager 🤣
Super, please post more...I am in a state of confusion. I have 4.5 years of experience in software development: 2 years in ServiceNow development and another 2.5 years in PHP-based full stack web development. Now, I have decided to focus on one domain: ServiceNow platforms. However, some people say that the ServiceNow platform is not good and suggest that I move to Node.js and React. Could you please clarify which option is better? I have a strong interest in the ServiceNow platform.
Thank you, saved me a lot of extra effort! I'm sorry I can't like this because if I do, the YT algorithms will go crazy showing me similar content and mess up my carefully curated content streams! But you have my psychic like!
🤣 cheers
Actually I m from India and your language in English quit harder for me but still the way u explained is really very understandable....thnks very much
Thanks for the comment. I realise my accent is an acquired taste and I do ramble a lot 😀 thanks for sticking with it.
Thanks! Was looking for a solution to make flow designer a little more user friendly for the citizen developers at my org, this seems perfect for that. Curious to see what it looks like to actually use the template, but I can't find the follow-up video that you mentioned at the end.
Hi.. There is a way where i can see in a pivot table the sum of my ritm + my cases+ my catalog task closed per month?
Got some issues here and there but a great video. Really appreciate your work. Thankyou so much i was able to understand some much about rest api.
This was helpful to me today! Thanks!
hi, any idea how we can check the state of the task created inside do the following. Its not selectable outside of it. I have to do RITM close when task is close. So how I can do it.
Thanks for the video - well done! Just one point: it might make sense to check the the company is actually set using ! gs.nil() before creating the query.
I agree it probably is a better idea but do you have any citations to backup the claim it is generally considered "Best Practice"?
Confused on what is he part of template in here? 1) Why was an output defined in the template 2) I can dynamically choose to run the respective flow(Jira or salesforce) in the same way using data pill. So what is even the use of Get flow outputs action? May be I am a bit confused. Need some clarity on this
How can it be done for user instead of channel ? i want to send an update to user on teams
I have used the code for business rule copy comments from RITM to SCTask. Each time I test, the same comment gets added twice in the SCTask. Have you come across this issue?
Hi, were you able to fix this? Same thing is happening to me
@@sabcdefghijkl I was able to resolve this by applying the following condition only in the loop "if(current.comments != '')". The problem with the code is that it is triggering twice without adding the above condition.
@@abbasif thanks! Will try that. Did you add that to both BR? Or only for one?
Hi @abbasif , Can you please tell where to add this condition as I am also facing same issue. When I update in sc tasks work notes because of ritm br the other sc task are getting duplicates
I resolved this by applying the following condition only in the loop "if(current.comments != '')". The problem with the code is that it is triggering twice without adding the above condition.
Hi. The video is very good, I'm doing an integration and this video helped a lot. But how do I make the comment in the worknotes field of the servicenow incident arrive dynamically in the Jira issue?
if i send an email from flow design it is not updating in RITM? like email was sent.
Hi , Could you please tell how can i copy the response body which we will get when we hit the import set api to another table . ex: { "import_set": "ISET29325654", "staging_table": "ABC", "result": [ { "transform_map": "ABC Transform Map", "table": "sc_task", "display_name": "number", "display_value": "SCTASK0815512", "record_link": "ABC/api/now/table/sc_task/93a4a9999bc6c610f41811b5bb4bcbb0", "status": "error", "sys_id": "93a4a9999bc6c610f41811b5bb4bcbb0", "status_message": "Ignored: System could not find the Catalog Task: SCTASK0815512 in ServiceNow", "error_message": "This catalog task may not belong to catalog item. Please provide a valid catalog task" } ] } This is the response (and this response is different each time AND depends upon the sctask number ) .. now i want this response to be saved in another table's particular field .. Kindly please help me !!! Thank you ...
+1
Hello, What if I would like to ;ass real value from the field - not sys_id?
One year later... and I found it useful :) thanks
Haha lovely!!
Bad video quality
🙁 sorry.
Thank you for SUCH a clear and EASY explanation on how to do this! New follower!
Love it! That’s why I do it 😀👍
When I ran the test and check the event log record, the sysid of the approval record populated the table field instead. What am I doing wrong?
why department is prepopulating with sys_id of user
Still not sure why to use the message box. I mean the same key we can use in the g_form.addErrorMessage(getMessage('key')); and it will still work
Great video. I need to do the same thing but with the approver which is selected in the SCTASK, not in the REQ. Any solution?
Approver agains the SCTASK? Never seen that done before. But from a flow you can dot walk or select the table you need so anythings possible.
How can we start a group conversation from MS TEAMs and copy the chat in work notes automatically. Can you show that also.
Morning..thanks for the note. I'm afraid I havent looked at Teams integrations for ageeeessss. Justin Meadows has some good videos on here that may help there.
This is a great video Sir. But can you also make a video on how we can save the chat conversation in the work notes. also how to open a group conversation.
Morning..thanks for the note. I'm afraid I havent looked at Teams integrations for ageeeessss. Justin Meadows has some good videos on here that may help there.
Great video. Thanks for sharing 😄 Video suggestion: Catalog builder with flow designer approvals We’re working on enabling Catalog Builder atm. We require an approval of the submitted cat items. To do so you clone a subflow template which is OOTB, then create a sys_property with the sysid of the new flow. Sounds easy enough. We’re struggling though with how to handle the exisiting cat item if it’s updated; catalog builder creates a copy of a published item and places the published item as checked out. Once the copy is approved by the flow and set to active, we want to set the old published item to inactive. It’s locked behind a protection policy though; if it’s checked out, you can’t touch it. Even via flow it will fail. We can create a business rule with setWorkflow(false) to cleanup the old cat item. But then we find the new published cat item doesn’t show in catalog builder should the client wish to edit it again. I think we’re struggling with what the process should be. ServiceNow don’t seem to have doco on the approval process, and their protection policy’s are getting in the way. Is there a flow fix for this?
Update on this. Turns out our on-prem instance has underlying Flow issues; they just don’t work reliably. I’ve had to copy the template and leave it blank (to enable the review process). Then I have a scheduled job running which looks for cat_items in the review state. The job then does a bunch of logic to handle it (raises a RITM for review/approval etc). Originally I’d written a Business Rule to trigger on the state change of the cat_item, but we found the flow stops the triggering of it completely. Anyways. Everything is working. But it’s not best practice. I hate workarounds like this.
Good on ya for doing this video mate, you've helped a fellow Brit' in Canada navigate a 'Buzz' word! 💯
Love this!! Makes the effort worth it.
Yes please re contracting. I'm thinking I should go contract and leave the permie job for greater flexibility and work/life balance.
Thanks for the comment! Sorry on the delay..busy few weeks. Shoot me a linkedin msg if you want to talk through.
@@ServiceNerd Cheers Russ, may do just that!
😲 Youve revealed my true identity 🤣
Very helpful video. quick question is there a way alert any teams in Jira or SN if the integration fails via webhook. Failure in failure on Jira side webhook
Hey. I havent played with this for along time. However nothing to stop creating and Error handling flow perhaps and hooking that into the return of the API call when HTTP status != how you want it, or the message = xyz.
Hi Thanks for the video! we are using flow designer and using send email actions, how can we populate the 'TO' field in the send email action with users email addresses from a specific group? We tried doing a look up records to sys_user_grmember table and dot walking to the user email. However upon testing and checking the executions, the email addresses are not populated into the to field within the results and no emails get sent. Any ideas how we could achieve this please
Not sure why that didnt work for you. You can split that user email loookup logic into its own subflow for easier debugging I guess. Also if your looping you maybe overwriting on each iteration (just an assumption). Maybe in the new subflow above add a variable as a string and add to that string with the email address for each member found.
You are simply awesome. Thank you.
Love that comment! Thanks
Thank you for this video. I think it is very helpful!
Love this comment!! Thanks
Earned a sub, thanks!
Lovely!! Very much appreciated
Thank you, just did it. Perfect
Lovely stuff!
Hello sir, do you know if is possible to generate a report based on on a specific KB ( knowledge Base ) that was use when closing an incident or in my case a bunch of incidents from a specific start and end date? Sorry for the loaded question. Thank you
SN has masses of reporting capability. If its in a table, chances are you can report on it. Maybe you have to do a database view first to join some tables to get it looking nice in a report but dont see why not.
Good to have you back!
Lovely stuff
Hi Sir , In the Update Record Action , since Approval table consists of different task types like change , problem , request Item etc but why it takes "TaskTable" instead of Change , problem or sc_req_item table . please clarify
All of the records you mention there extend from the Task table. So the system goes to the root level, from there you dot walk to the underlying table and its fields
Massive apologies on the delay...Deadpool answered :)
