Hi there! There are Currency Exchange Outlet in the airport. However I just would like to mention those at the airport may be too much as oppose to those found in the city centre. I think the best thing to do is just have some Polish money exchange prior to your trip. Or if you are willing to take the risk of exchanging money at the airport, you can do so but not too much. Take the chance of exchanging them at the city centre for better rates. Hope this helps, and good luck on your trip!

I’m a local and yes you can buy a 24h ticket or 48h ticket. But I’m not 100% sure if there’s a ticket machine at the airport (but probably yes)

Hi there. At that time, I believe it was my debit card that i had used to pay for the transaction. They do accept credit cards and cash as well. Just be certain to select your desired language (English in my case) to follow the instructions well. Good luck and enjoy in visiting Krakow!

@@emeraldbearer thanks! The machines sometimes ask for PIN number and our local cards do not have this feature.

@@labiciphil Oh I see. I never knew there are cards that do not have a PIN number. I think the machine may also have a chip and pin reader. So scan your card for payment may be possible. If your card feature may not have chip & pin, I guess the best option would be to pay by cash.

Yup once you boarded the train from Karkow airport, there is a vending machine there where one can purchase tickets. Or better yet once the train attendant makes his rotation and inspection, just tell him about this, and you can purchase a ticket from him. I am not too certain though if the price from the attendant is the same from that of the vending machine. On my case on my first visit to Krakow, I just purchased the train ticket as seen on the video before boarding the train, on the extra assurance that I won't be fined (not that I know that they do it in Poland as oppose to other countries.) Hehe! Good Luck on your trip.

If someone wants to know that: The price of buying a ticket from train attendant is higher, because there’s a 2 PLN fare for issuing a ticket on a station where ticket machine / office is avaliable. Also if you’re buying a ticket in train, i strongly recommend to board the train by first doors in the direction of where’s the train going (the train crew should be there), because you can get a 300 PLN fine for not having a valid ticket during inspection

Hello There! No need to validate the ticket but have it ready once you are inside the train. A Train Inspector will be coming around to check if you have a ticket. No worries if you forget to buy one, you can purchase directly from the Inspector. Additional help: do download app on your phone: Jakdojade --- this is for Trams & buses around Krakow that you can purchase and directly even validate (all on the phone). Tram maps on your chosen destination will automatically be provided. Hoping in the near future to make a video of that. God Bless and enjoy your Krakow holiday!

Just one last question please... would it be possible to buy a few bus/tram tickets in advance and then validate it whenever I need to use it throughout the week? Think it would be handy having a few tickets ready to use whenever I need it during my trip.

@@Drix86 I personally never had to buy a ticket from the ticket machine (only exception was the train ticket from the airport towards the city centre), due to the reason that once you downloaded the Jakdojade app, you can purchase the tickets from there (the ticket is good for both trams and buses). The tickets purchased comes in 20 minutes, 50 minutes, 90 minutes or the 24, 48, 72 hrs variation. There is also 7 days choice and Group ticket and family as well. One good advise is buy the ticket via your app (most specially if it's the 20 minutes) once the tram or bus is nearby the Tram/bus stop. Once bought and okayed via the app that is considered as validated and automatically will be counting down the time. I learned it the hard way I was still up in the hotel (just 5 minutes walk towards the Tram/Bus stop nearby) and I already bought the ticket and had it okayed (validated), thereby the countdown from 20 minutes to zero has started. The lovely hotel receptionist had to remind me not to purchase it like that since the countdown till the ticket is done had started. And additionally, once you purchase the ticket via the app, you don't have to tap your phone to a specific machine inside the tram or bus. Just show and open the Jakdojade app where if an Tram/ bus Inspector may be walking around to inspect it. They may not always come around but if they do, just show the app, seeing the countdown from the time you purchase the ticket and the Q barcode is enough of an evidence for them. Alternately if you do like to purchase tram/bus tickets on the machines (whether by card or cash), the trams themselves inside have this which you can do. A ticket tab will come out and proceed to the nearest yellow machine to validate it(once only not like for every bus or tram that you would be riding). Keep your validated ticket always, since if you change trams or buses for different destination and whenever an inspector comes around, you can show this then. My best advise is to stick to the app. It is brilliant. Aside from the tickets that you can purchase and validate from there, there will be like a chosen part where you could write your point of origin to your planned destination, from there the app would generate a list of in-coming bus and trams for that given destination with the time how long they would be arriving on your tram/bus stop. A map will also come up showing point A to point B (akin to that of a Google Map) and showing where will be the next stop. So the app itself is super convenient and absolutely brilliant! Hello Awais, it is just unfortunate on our road travel towards Switzerland, we just pass by Paris. Nancy in between countries was our one day rest stop. Believe me when I say I was unimpressed at first when the group proposed weeks before that Nancy would be our stop since the name of the place was unfamiliar. But being there to explore the place, it was very lovely town full of history as well as charm! I was sooo impressed by my actual visit, it would be well worth it again for a second visit.
