Holy hell this siren sounds terrible to me tbh. I just don't like the quick 'wooop' transitions, because I'm more used to slower, less abrupt sounds going up and down, but this doesn't stick with me..

The siren heard here is a Federal Signal Modulator. It's basically federal signal's version of a Whelen 2900 series siren. There are plenty of these here in the USA. However, ours our either single- or dual-toned. Either way, they sound way different than these. I don't know what those sirens are used for, however, the most common use for the Modulator is for tornado warnings. My town has 5 Whelen rotating sirens, one of which is a 3016, and the other 4 are probably Vortex R-4's. Then again, my local rice mill has a Federal Signal 2001 of some sort. I'll post a picture on my Google+ page, which uses the same account name, of each siren as soon as possible so I can get some help identifying the exact model, whether it's WS- or WPS- for the 3016, or if it's -SRN, -SRNB, -DC, or -130 for the 2001. Thanks! :)

@Thomas- No, many countries perform this test and it is revolting. Designing a sound blocking container with sound measurement instrumentation is extremely easy with modern technology. It would save a whole population from being disrupted.
