    How much distance the instrument should maintain from the target to take measurements of gas clouds?

    Could it visualize tiny amounts of gas if it's 90% pure if its flowing at a very slow rate? for example methane, butane, or C02. or does it need a huge, flowing amount? I need to view tiny cracks only 20-50 microns in size and see if any little bit of gas is getting through.
