My son turned 1 year old in January. Since he was born, up until now, I carry him and cuddle with him , that’s how he falls sleep. Also, he feed before sleep , always wants his bottle. He’s too heavy know and will get heavier. I need to start sleep training because he will be starting day care in a couple of weeks. Don’t want him to suffer.😕 Any advice?

this is full of misleading information! babies eat during the night till 12 month at least. in addition, breastfeeding is more then food- its supposed to be comforting and gives the baby a safe place when he hasn't gain yet the ability of self soothing, and it a survival need!

This video was incredibly helpful for me. My son is 15 months and has nursed to sleep since he was born. He won't take a bottle, a pacifier, or a lovey. He only wants the breast. I can't be a pacifier all night every 2-3 hrs anymore, at some point a mother's mental health can be affected by this situation. Finding a new way to comfort your baby is not bad advice. I needed this video, because the sheer dependency on me as a pacifier all night is making me wish to cease nursing entirely. I know that if we can find other ways to soothe, nursing can continue through toddlerhood.

I'm determined to do this this time! We are in a two bedroom house so baby is in with me and hubby. Currently in the next to me crib however he never goes in. He sleeps next to me without covers and pillows. Just ordered him a cot so that'll arrive in 6days ish. He sleeps next to me and is fed to sleep then he latches on alllll night. I enjoy it yet I'm exhausted. 6 all nighters I've just done in a row. HELLLLLP XX

I was scared of the dark for as long as I lived with my parents. I never talked to them about it and they never asked, even though they could hear me sprint up the stairs when I had to turn off the light on the lower level. They were emotionally abusive and really I was scared of them, not of the dark. Once I got my own place it got much better, though I still have a bit of paranoia that crops up every now and then.

It will take a gradual shift to move the calories she is in boarding at night into the daytime. I’d suggest a reduction in night feeding and offering a nice big feed first thing in the morning. Then feed upon waking from any daytime naps and another big feed before bedtime. Shouldn’t take more than 4-5 days to turn this around x

When I put him in his crib for night time he fusses about 5 or 10 minutes then it's asleep, but, when I try to get him to nap in his crib (my goal) he cries up to an hour and it's hit or miss with him getting sleep. I've only tried that for a few days because he wasn't getting his naps in during that time. What do I do? Keep him in his crib until he goes to sleep, or for a certain time even if that means missing one or both naps? First time Mom here and this gives me so much anxiety. What to do when baby starts crying screaming and inconsolable? Keep pushing through? It’s very hard to do... day one struggles...

@@leenaparsons9876 to be honest, I stopped following this advice. It did not feel right to get my baby to be that distressed just for me to be more comfortable. She’ll stop feeding to sleep eventually all by herself without any screaming so I’ve succumbed to that.

@@strwbrryfinchy I'm trying to be that way but my mother in law that I live with says I'm causaing my daughter to be emotionally dependent on me when that's not the case. Why would I force such a change for everyone else's sake? I know she'll grow out of it and I'm patient with her but everyone wants me to start working and I don't know how to deal with it.

@@emilyhoward8734 you know what’s best for your baby and for you, no one else. If trying other people’s tips and tricks doesn’t work well or doesn’t feel good to you, you have the power to move to techniques that do work for you even if that means breastfeeding all night and bed sharing. Your baby is allowed to be emotionally dependant on you, they are a baby! They’re not capable of being self-sufficient in most ways. Eventually all children learn to sleep alone, regardless of what technique is implemented. Sorry I get a bit worked up about this! You’re doing a great job hun, your MIL can keep her opinions to herself.

That's okay, it's natural to feel scared when you can't see what's around you. Try a night light but make sure it's dim and ideally a red or amber colour light ; )

Honestly your video is very useful. I can’t thankyou enough. Seems very logical but I’ve been thinking for ages how can I can do it and this to me sounds like the most clear and logical solution. Thankyou.
