Hot Club of the Mountains

Hot Club of the Mountains is an acoustic jazz band with an eclectic lineup of musicians who compose and perform songs from the 1930s era. Performers include Alina Quu-vocals, Mario Guitario-guitar, Sean Mabe-guitar, David Mitchell-vibraphone, Glen Diamond-upright Bass, Bill Perkins-guitar, Josh Rust-Guitar, Chad Peterson-Guitar/Vocals and Joe Tighe-clarinet/soprano sax . Hot Club of the Mountains combines the improvisational music of guitarist Django Reinhart, Lionel Hampton, Sidney Bechet, 1930s swing and New Orleans jazz. Hot Club of the Mountains is an ensemble with boundless energy and passion.

The Train Blues composition was inspired by the Pea Vine Railroad between Damascus, Virginia and Mountain City, Tennessee in the early 1900's. Hello, I play my clarinet in outdoor environments, Latin and happy genres, cumbia, merengues, boleros and it is a large music group in which I play music, there are 10 saxophones around me and I can't hear myself with my clarinet, I have a Selmer Focus but I feel that it doesn't give me the volume and projection to be heard among all the saxophones. What mouthpiece do you recommend for a projecting and warm sound?

I would be very interested If you compare the 5RV Lyre profile 88 with a 13 series. I've been lately comparing M15 in the same way (a profile 88 and a 13 series one) and I like the 13 series more. In my opinion, choosing between the two is a matter of feeling and sound rather than tuning, because you can manage tuning by different length barrel.
I use a B45. It works for me, though I wish it were a bit less resistant but without narrowing the tip opening.
@@pukalo I played in a B45 years ago. Tip is a bit too open for my moderately developed brochure these days.
Reed strength playing with?
In this recording, Vandoren V12 3. Since this initial test. I have played some melodies with Vandoren Rue 56 3s and Mitchel Laurie 3s. And switched to a larger bore Selmer G10 clarinet. The results with jazz and pop music are quite good on the Vandoren 5RV Lyre and DAddario. The Vandoren 5RV Lyre has a richer, warmer sound with more control comparing these two mouthpieces. On the other hand, the Daddario is more flexible, at the expense of control. I have decided to keep these two and add them to my stable of mouthpieces. And, I will start recording a full song on the Vandoren 5RV Lyre tomorrow. One thing to add is, I do not have a well developed classical clarinet embrochure so, I have to use a mouthpiece that has a more closed tip to maintain reasonable control and intonation.
@@hotclubofthemountains3591 Well, I play even closer tip currently like M15 13 series. I plan to also give a try to 5RV Lyre 13 series or 5RV 13 series. I currently have an engraved logo 5RV Lyre traditional beak, It's quite good but needed something with more control and closer tip as Its rails are thin.
