I stand for this idea, it's a great car, it only needs some small change touches.

For me, I think now is the time for this vehicle to come to life, although if you are to ask me, what are the features and other things that have to be changed in it, I'll say, make some changes to the doors, plus a bonnet to access the engine, it a nice design.

Who's idea was it initially? Who funded it? I think the most important question is; what does it matter the gender of the poeple it was designed by, as long as it's a good car?

I had a 1976 242 DL that I traded for a used 1981 Saab 900 Turbo sedan. I loved the Saab, but the reliability didn’t compare with the Volvo. The repair costs of a high mileage Saab are so astronomical compared to the Volvo which was trouble free with the exception of it eating exhaust components at least 1 time per year. If my old Volvo was the 4sp OD instead of automatic, if it had the passenger side rear view mirror, tachometer and the old crank sunroof, I would’ve kept it. When Volvo had the 3 speed automatics, the engine would be roaring at 70 MPH and the gas mileage was poor because of that. I put 6x9 middle of the line speakers in the rear deck, a $40 amp/equalizer and a decent blaupunkt head unit in the Volvo and to this day, I haven’t had a better sounding stereo in a car. That Volvo trunk somehow made incredible bass.

Mon père a acheté un L4951 en 1966 comme deuxième camion, le premier étant une saloperie de Saviem JM240 avec le moteur MAN. Tout le monde à Longwy a rit de lui avec son camion bizarre à la cabine taillée à la hache. Déjà quand les autres ont vu la cabine basculante ... ça les a calmé et après quand mon paternel les doublait dans les montées en passant un rapport supérieur ça les faisait taire. Et la fiabilité était là !!! Il savait quand il partait et savait quand il allait revenir,ce qui n était pas le cas avec cette merde de Saviem. Ensuite il a acheté un 88 avec la SR 61 en 1972, le million de kilomètres sans problème. Pour moi Volvo est un très bon camion ( Iveco aussi). Il tient une place importante dans mon ❤ car c est le premier camion dans lequel je suis monté. Allé un défaut, la suspension inspirée du kangourou 😉
