The Dukes Of Hazzard - CBS Pre-emption Message
As a South Carolinian, it is warming to "hey'uh" this accent. Makes me all warm and fuzzy,
There were only two episodes left of Apple’s Way which had already been cancelled by CBS. The episode scheduled for this night was moved up which meant the last episode wasn’t aired on CBS and wouldn’t be seen until the show turned up a 10 years later in syndication.
The scheduled episode was a repeat of the "The Circus" (originally aired 9/22/74). CBS did in fact air the remaining 2 episodes "The Outing" (1/5/75) and "The Price" (1/12/74). There were no episodes left unaired by CBS.
NBC Daytime Was Only 3 Weeks Left For The Return Of High Rollers
This show had a very misleading title. It should have been called "The Mid-summer, Late-Summer Bert Convy Show".
I was born in 1973. Did Flatbush have an Italian community? I only know it as either black or Jewish.
Next To The Last Episode Of Body Language On CBS Daytime
Claude Mann became MIA by the end of the year.
This aired on Wednesday, January 1, 1986, preempted for "Happy New Year, Charlie Brown".
Best guess on this one would be Friday, December 7, 1984 ("Johnny Cash: Christmas on the Road").
I found some CKFM jingles from 1973 on a reel to reel. Funny enough it didn't change much
Wow, that's some accent! He was from South Carolina.
I was hoping to see an ad for S&R department store. They were always buying time during the local newscast.
I was in my teens when this came on. It was fantastic and a great introduction to Nick Nolte and Peter Strauss!
Two Marriages, Brought To You By. General Electric, Makers of GE Softwhite Bulbs, Life That's Beautiful To See By And Brighten Up To Work By, At GE We Bring Good Things To Life.
I wish that entire episodes of this should would get uploaded. I have been looking for it for quite sometime. Please help and thank you.
I am looking for the same promos for Roots.... openings/closings, bumpers, and the TV Guide commercial that ran at the end of each episode.
Definitely a medical drama theme. In the same league as the theme to ER
These TV Movies were Cinema quality the acting was phenomenal.
WOW!!!
Was this after Banachek ??
I've always loved the music soundtrack to this "bumper" - Not included on the Alex North Soundtrack for the TV mini-series, I suspect the music was composed for the "bumper", BUT I'll ask any way . . . Anyone know if the music is available anywhwere ?
It's a piece of stock music licensed from the KPM Music library and is titled "New Horizons".
@@sinrob1 Thank-you!
@sinrob1 . By Brian Bennett I believe.
Just to confirm: KPM Music Library "New Horizons" by Brian Bennett is available on iTunes - I GOT it! Thanks .
@@CodyZusteller Glad to hear you were able to get a copy. Enjoy!
Probably from November 1979
ELO knows they have it big here in the States when one of their music pieces serves as the one of the themes for a major US television network.
I was so pissed off with myself for watching this whole thing through to the finish, week after week! They should have named this crap (THE BAD GUY WINS!)
I wonder what was the program shown in D&F place ?
What a outstanding theme that holds up very well nearly 40 years later.
They don't make tv shows anymore like they used
Cbs was AWSOME back in those days of tv shows dukes of hazzard great amazing. Funny carchase
these would all be banned today. THey will be removed by you tube history scrubbers
I remember my parents watching this when I was a kid. I didn't get it. A few years later, I was really sick and missed a week of school. THey showed this on the morning movie all week and I loved it. I will always hate Falconetti, he was a great villain.
I just bought this on DVD; I remember watching it when it first premiered on TV. Great story with an excellent cast!
I remember watching this when it first premiered in the 1970s. I just bought it on DVD; a great story with top notch actors and actresses.
This was a riveting series that me and my whole family watched every week. I just couldn't wait for each episode to air. I would have been around 15 years old at the time. Falconetti scared the hell out of me!
I agree 👍🏽
By the team who brought you North And South 9 years later….
Ditto, I was 10 when this was on. Also they didn't have their sister Gretchen. I miss these Miniseries. Then Roots, The Thorn Birds, Winds Of War, War & Rememberance, Lace & Lace II. Now with Cable TV, most notably Hulu & Netflix it's not necessary. Reality TV also took a bite out of TV too. Remember how Susan Blakely, & Deborah Raffin were once the "It" girls for TV. Deborah almost played Sandy in Grease.
This was an excellent series with Treat williams great in the lead role.
I was 18 when I first saw this program. Love it. What a fantastic cast.
This is CBS, the Columbia Broadcasting System.
Sessão da tarde bootleg
THE first mini-series ever!
The first miniseries in America was The Blue Knight. Blue Knight preceded Rich Man, Poor Man by three years.
Although this was nice to see, I have to say, I liked Book II much better
I read book one. I was blown away that Ed Asner could do drama. Also many of them worked on Roots, Ed Asner, Robert Reed, Linda Day George, and in Roots The Next Generations Norman Fell. Kim Darby dated Andy Gibb (!958-1988), and Dorothy Maguire was in Peyton Place The TV Version as Constance Mackenzie.
HOT DAMN I REMEMBER THIS & THE EPIC TV MINISERIES! NEXT 2 ROOTS WHICH WOULD COME A YEAR LATER & MAKE HISTORY;I ❤ ED BOTH ; SAW BOTH AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE OVER THE YEARS
I remember when my mom watched this as a little kid
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful performance. I love listening to Maureen McGovern's Christmas album every year (it's a tradition) esp. her rendition of Some Children See Him is incredibly exquisite (this live version is just as beautiful as the recorded version on the album). Her voice is always in perfect pitch with such purity and clarity (like a bell).
You're very welcome.
You could tell it's the late 1980s/early 1990s when it seems like so many shows' theme songs had a sax lead.
California Fever, Will Be Right Back!
Great and nostalgic post
Doctors Hospital will be right back!
Also seen on "O.K. Crackerby!" (starring country singer Burl Ives).
I think this show aired on sunday mornings when I was a kid.
That’s the voice over Ossie Davis R.I.P. Ossie Davis 🪦⚰️
