Neighborhood Fly Over
Following visits by two hurricanes I flew over the neighborhood to survey the damage. While some trees were down and we lost power for 5 days the damage was lighter than I expected.

US 441 and I 75 has experienced significant growth. Years ago we said little prayers for a Sonny's to open here. I laughed about Publix rumors ever coming to our area. Now im tapping the brakes on growth but my homeowners insurance will be with the guys at the end of this new drive.

In 2022 a new design for the capture and treatment of storm water was put in service at the intersection of I-75 and 441. With a Cat3 Hurricane headed for Cedar Key and our house I wondered how all these trees would do?

The storm trended west in the middle of the night and this area was very lucky, sustained 70 mph winds would have been catastrophic for trees and many structures. This area is between Alachua and High Springs.
The hurricane has already passed Cedar Key get with the program.
