"Real" Flow Chattooga Section 4
Просмотров 197День назад
Most seasoned boaters say that this section starts to get real around 2 ft. This is the highest I've run it and first time in a while I was a bit nervous going into the run. While I've gotten many laps on it over the past few months, it's still a section of river that deserves respect. Run on 1/4/25 in a Zet Five @ 500 cfs, 1.95 ft Boaters Thomas Barnes Stephen Carter Pat Cudd Tony Klompien Cha...
Creekmas Weekend: Frogtown PFD

My introduction to steep creeking... never have I been so challenged in all capacities on whitewater. This run has a small watershed, so it's rarely in, and when it is, it needs to be jumped on quickly. Stephen has run it a handful of times but never this high. I got a heavy dose of Rhododendron, logs in the water, and portages. Running this 3 mile section took almost 6 hours, by the end I was ...
Creekmas Weekend: Chattooga Section 1 PFD

The WW community must've been more nice than naughty, because after Christmas, we got a bunch of rain, and for once it fell on the weekend! Started it off exploring a new section on my home river. Another breathtaking section on Mamma Toogs with some of the stoutest rapids I've been on. The first PFD of hopefully many this creek season Run on 12/28/24 in a Zet Five @ 500 cfs, 2 ft Boaters Steph...
A Slightly Less Beater Xmas on Section 4
Просмотров 15621 день назад
Like a true degenerate I spent more time on the river than with family or non-river friends. Different crew, mostly the same level of beatering. Been recording these on the river videos for a year now. These last 2 Christmas videos were really fun to do, and I'm happy with and proud of how they came out. Thanks for watching this year! Run on 12/25/24 in a Dagger Nova @ 1.55 ft (online) Boaters ...

Giving the people what they really want 🤣🫳🏼🫳🏼
What paddle are you using Justin J Lee awesome my friend 🤘😎
Select Warrior
this is sick!!
Absolutely a kick ass run Justin J that would be a blast adrenaline rush for sure🤘😎
I'm jealous Bruce 🤣😎
the brown claw after I roll coming out of crack sent me, I forgot about that 😂 big thanks to everyone for grabbing my stuff at jawbone, that got spicy real fast!
Oh I love your sound effects Bruce 🤣😂🤣
Get that air!
That's it Bruce mix it all up 😅
Getting that stern stall figured out. I plan to work on the bow a lot this summer. Stern stall is my only trick 😂 I’m a fair weather slicer and too far away from these pool sessions
thanks Cody!
Not in the sive just next to it 😂
you know, if at 3:29 you went downstream instead of doing a bunch of lil spinny spins you would have beat me to the entrance... 🤣
🙄
Get it Justin J Lee
You should freewheel it
🤣 i dont even know where you'd be able to
That was a fun (cold) day!
You're locked in.
Absolutely awesome 🤘🔥
Живой?
Way to handle it!
This is why you're awesome. If I have an issue with a hole I'm gonna dwell on stroke timing and angle for months. You just yolo and drop in.
🤣💀 Appreciate you bro! Not all holes, I left the 2nd one at Yardsale alone
Now you know...😅😅
more fun than I could have expected
Chundering. I only know that weird from the Australian character in the cartoon "The Critic" lol
In whitewater it means getting beat down in a hole
@justinjjlee beat down in a hole? Oh, I get it now..I thought u meant getting beat up at first lol
What is a chonk😂
lol, just being silly, chunky or chubby
Sunday was savage out there
Loved seeing your face when we got next to the thing!
The silence afterwards was GOLDEN😂😂😂😂😂😂
O ya, definitely was contemplating what easily could have happened
What a save 😂
😂😂😂 I see he has not changed his ways😂😂😂❤
🤣
I just noticed the names of your crew, some great people to kayak with!
Couldn't agree more, I've been very blessed with the folks who've been working with me from day 1
Just finished my second run today. Never thought I would be one of those people. Congrats, Brother, you rock!
Isn’t it way more doper?
as usual, full slicing is the way
Like
Very nice!
Great paddling and great quality footage!
The boat you’re in is a sports car with no traction control, I recommend paddling aggressively and chest closer to more over the knees
Way to go Justin 🤘❤️😎
Tallulah is the best. Awesome stuff in there
Glad you’re okay. That looked so scary
it was a stable pin, probably could have tried a few more things before pushing off w/ 2 hands, leading to me losing my paddle
Where is this on the river??
right before Paddlesnake
Nice save with the back deck roll! @ 4:48
just a lil hole play 😅
@justinjjlee 😆 i love it!
Nice! 🫳🏽
8:06 Bonk You're looking super good on the stern! For the double pump on to the bow you need to make sure your head stays ahead of the rotation. Right now you're head turns 50%-70% as far as it should and that should be a big part of why your about 50%-70% of the way up on your double pumps. Another thing is you need to keep your weight over your feet. Which is more of a feeling thing and will just come with time. If you focus on turning your head more it should happen naturally as you start to find the balance point more and more. For the double pump onto the stern you are leaning back which means you can't keep tension in your core as your bow comes up. I think this is probably because you are too focus on what you are doing with your paddle. Goodluck boss! Nice work on the stern squirts/stalls!
Koontz Flume is actually the rapid starting at 1:44 on your video!
thanks for the feedback, I was told it's a 2 parter starting where I labeled it... does that first rapid have a name then?

😂 ❤
Damn. Too bad yall couldn’t do earls down. Some good shit in that three extra miles.
Ya, I still haven't been able to put on at Earls! That day the road was still blocked w/ trees unfortunately, one day...
Gotta love the upper gauley! I prefer rafting it 😅
there's no wrong asnwer as long as you out there!
Is this the kayak version of "Groundhog Day"?
Great video Justin!
You are the jackass that boofed into the line-up at a play spot. Good job asserting your right of way.
