What is the weather like in Panama? Is it really hot and humid? Mulino sounds like the president of El Salvador who also is trying to end the corruption in his country. I don't know what to believe about Maduro. I know the U.S. is not happy about his win since they are dying to get their hands on Venezuela's oil so you never know what narrative is the truth.

I appreciate your update on Panama but you don't have a clue as to how things run there or elsewhere in Latin America. First and foremost Panama should be the Dubai of this hemisphere without any poverty much like what Ghadaffi was doing in Lybia. The canal is an ATM that never sleeps and knowing that should tell you why or how things run. The 9 or 10 families that run the Canal and get the funds from it directly should enlighten you about who is running the show. It does not matter who is president of that country much like anywhere else in the world. They are all puppets to the actual people running the show. They could elect Mickey Mouse and it still would be the same. I know what I speak of because I lived there for 9 to 10 years. I am still a resident. I lived in Chiriqui for most of my time there but as you mentioned the power outages that happen every other day make it at the very least frustrating if not intolerable to live there. Look into how the power companies sell their electricity to Costa Rica. It is a shame because Chiriqui is the Jewel of Panama. Also, there should be no water issues in a country where it rains 8 to 9 months of the year. Monsoon style. It is seriously time to wake up and either keep your mouth shut or go home and fix the same if not worse problems in your home country.

We live in Cambutal. A week after he was elected president the government finally began to build a small bridge that we’ve needed for a long time. Government efficiency will be great to have, if this continues for at least the near future. Especially if they can better manage the electricity quality of service.

I find that hatd to believe that the president will accept othrrs to self report? He has to create a team to investigate governors and mayors. Corruption needs to be eliminated from the top down. Just like Bukele did. México needs it too.

Very good presentation, enjoyed it a lot. Hopefully this we’ll help newbies to the wonderful country of Panama. I been in country for five years and been very pleased with the people and country. Just watch out when it comes to the drivers of Panama. When crossing a street l find it best to hold your arms up in surrender, look both ways and run fast! I use public transportation 90% of the time. Thanks.

Thanks for update. I am in USA now and a permanent resident of Panama and looking for to returning in September to a wonderful country and it’s people. Yes l was there during the peaceful protest in November and the landfill fires. Panamá has its problems but somehow things will work for the good people of Panama.

1) There is an MLS, called Acobir. 2) There are no title companies, rather, attorneys provide that function. 3) Interview 3 agents, ask them how they operate. 4) You can walk into offices and ask to see properties. 5) You can find listings of other agents and then have your agent make an offer for you on that property. 6) For short-term rentals, it's not reasonable to expect most agents to find you a property. Full-service agents will.

I was going to move to Panama. Then covid hit and Panama and airlines shut down. Thousands of Americans were asked to leave or stranded. Now how can you trust your retirement to a tiny country that folds and kicks you out when events get rough?

Have you gone to Taborcillo Island inside Bahia de Chame. Quite interesting as John Wayne used to own it with his Panamanian wife. Relic of an old hotel with John Wayne memorabilia can still be found there. All abandoned for a long time. I think the current owner is even selling it now.

Hope they open the Bar/Restaurant First don't want to wait until 2027 Haha!

There isn't much to do in Panama. Mexico, Colombia are awesome!
