While he is a billionaire, most of the time he didnt have billions of dollars cash on hand. He had a value of billions of dollars by owning the stock of the publically traded companies he runs. Due to contracts he had with said companies he was required to sell stocks at a given time which gave him cash on hand. At this point he would have to pay capitol gains tax on the cash he received at 15%. And even though the companies are worth billions, that again does not mean they have that as cash on hand. Now granted it would be easier for them to get cash, however, the company (unlike the government) needs to balance thier books to keep the business running. That is done by keeping expenses as low as they can. If his employees are not paid a living wage or a wage they are happy with, they can find employment elsewhere. The company is not bound to the employees, but to company and investor interests. Most companies cannot afford to pay people top dollar, give full medical benifits, and an excellent retirement pension the way the government can "afford" to. It is not Elons responsability to help the poor. In fact, it is nobodys responsability but the poor persons to help themselves. It may not always be easy, but it can be done in most circumstances. If anyone could help the poor it would be the government, however they do not balance the budget and put the priorities of the people first. They neglect the schools and the oppertunity of teaching people a skill that they can use in the real world. Instead they waste money on stupid things that do not benifit the people or the economy. Plus, taxes paid to the federal government have an automatic loss of value since the administration costs are so high. When they do not have "enough" money, they print it and it loses value causing the lower wage workers to take a pay cut. Thus making them more poor. And on top of that, it cost 3 to 5 times more for them to do anything the privaite sector could do. This makes it so every dollar paid in taxes gets 10 to 20 cents worth of value. The government is a greater inhibitor of prosperity than any billionaire or fortune 500 company.

What do you consider a livable wage, and how are the rich supposed to pay it to every employee while paying the taxes you say they aren't paying? You have all these accounting sheets? You do realize people usually get rich by investing themselves into society right? A ton of people benefit from these top G's.
