After struggling throughout the day with an over-crowded park we abandoned the hopes of hiking any trails on the interior of Acadia. We left the park, and found Canon Brook trail, a delightfully empty trail that starts on the outskirts of the park. We hiked Canon Brook, and then were pleasantly surprised to learn that it connected to the Cadillac Mountain South Ridge Trail, and that we were closer to the summit of Cadillac than we initially thought. There were plenty of beautiful sights to take in as we progressed through the trails and a stunning waterfall, which we climbed up and down during our time on Canon Brook.
