Sherco 300 Test!
Getting to ride a 2023 Sherco 300 2t + a 2018 Sherco 300SEF. This was my first ride in months as I have actually sold my bike.
2023 3002t - 18:23
2018 3004t - 00:00 & 1:00:44
Huge thankyou to Garth from @OffBeatTrax for lending me a bike. Was awesome to get out for a ride after all this time. My first time riding any Sherco and I was thoroughly impressed. Camera died a bit early, I did spend about another hour on the 4t after. Both very impressive bikes!

Made the most of being away due to my son being near hospital and got out or a ride in some new forestry that I hadn't yet ridden! I slowed the group down for sure but learnt so much! Was a great time until I landed awkwardly on my broken arm and did something to it. Pinched nerve or something, either way it ended my day and made my ride back to the car a struggle! Filmed on my New Insta360 Ace...
39 Riders out for a Casual Forestry Ride...

Every year some locals put on this ride. This year 39 riders were in attendance and they all got to ride these trails for the first time! I ended up leading for the majority of the ride, which was good because I didnt have to stop and help anybody and was able to conserve a heap of energy in doing so! Definitely is! Need to get myself another bike asap and start riding more again
such a epic ride man glad u loved it
I'm 6'4" and just purchased a 2008 WR450F......great insights specifically regarding this height challenges.
Like the gloves, what's the brand?
I use the front brake on down hills more than the rear. I did trials to get better on the dirt bike and you learn to use and trust the front brake. But you can’t lean back or bias weight to the rear as you’ll lose the front end as there is no pressure there with no weight. You have to commit to pushing your weight through the front end and through that front tyre. Great vid too.
Thanks for the feedback! I have thought many times about getting on a trials bike just for the experience. I think my problem is exactly that, I lean back too far and dont put enough trust in the front, ironic that exactly this is what causes the front to wash lol. This particular track isnt too bad, but a lot of what we ride down here are seriously off-camber downhills, easy to come unstuck with the front brake, catches me out quite a bit.
@@RoostGumps trials is a great way to improve your enduro skills. It taught me traction, body weight, balance and most importantly, clutch control. I was lucky enough here in Perth to get along to a few of Neil Price’s coaching clinics when i was doing trails. Unfortunately, i wasn’t scared of doing some of the harder stuff and i don’t bounce like i used to. It was starting to hurt a lot.
@@Ridersofthelostpath yeh i could certainly do with help with all of the above lol. I’m not scared of the harder stuff, I’m probably a bit too keen for my skill set tbh. One way to learn though…
Great video. There's a reason there is a thermostat in the bike, that's to hold the water around the head until the barrel gets some heat into it, Why?... so you don't get a cold seizure. Ask me how I know!! KTM and other brands could save a lot of money by deleting it...but the dont. !! And i Had all those sensor probs with my 300, went through 5 of them in 18 months !!
Jesus I havnt been for a proper ride since this
Need to get out more! Can never ride enough imo lol
Great tracks, I went form a KTM to a GG, the front-end issue is tyres or suspension set up, once their set up, the husky and GG are better imho.
Noice riding and tracks man!
You forgot about your microphone mate 😅
Sorry for the dumb comment man. I was drunk that night. I haven’t been able to ride because my back is messed up. I was jealous because you’re living the dream. I have to kick start my bike and it sucks.
I need to make you a Machete
Machete is great for when youre out riding and just need to do a bit of cleaning. Much nicer to ride with. But this saw is bloody awesome for when you need to do serious clearing out!
A small gap though the bush is always a trail
Awesome tracks where are these if you dont mind telling me.
Hey mate, flick me a message in IG or something, happy to chat privately
will do thx@@RoostGumps
Was going to say something funny, kinda like "mother nature crys when you cut her" but then decided not to do that in case someone thought I was serious😂 Nice clean up Max
Yewww!
The secret is starting to get out about how good this riding area is.
I used to never see any one that wasn't riding with me in this forrestry saw a group of at least 15 ktms on Sunday down near the big gully with the 4 hill climbs coming out to the road. Now it's popping up on youtube
@@lindsaysmith-white1298 on Saturday there was 39 of us out for a ride, is that what you saw? I was leading the majority of the ride. We ran into another group of 9 that day and were told of another group of 4. Ive ridden this area at least 2-3 times a week for the past 5 months and never see a soul, Saturday was definitely an anomaly. All these trails you see are because of two blokes, one thats a local. Very thankful for all their work. Even for the ride sunday we did a collective 50+ hrs of clearing lantana and vines between 4 of us willing to put in the work the week leading up to the weekend. Ill never publicly give out the location of this riding. If you know, you know. Otherwise its all hush hush. If you can link me to other youtube vids of the area im keen as to watch! (Not publicly obviously, flick us a link on ig or something though!)
Sent you a message on ig
good stuff, 100% some honest reviews would be fresh from some Aussie riders.
just wondering what you think of the ogio dakar pack? haven't seen many people review these. I did the same getting a cheaper hydro pack now looking for a solid one, either the ogio dakar or the uswe moto 8.
AND THIS IS WHAT YOU DO FOR FUCKEN FUN LMFAO. Lovely fucken compilation. Very fucken well put together. I'm sure it's totally worth every bump and bruise. LOL the whole way through Max 😂
Maybe not the best one to sit down at the TV for Flynn to watch daddy😂

@RoostGumps LOL, just wait till he gets to school then OMFGosh
@RoostGumps I sheltered my girls a bit and censored my mates around the kids (tried to anyway LOL). They hear it all sooner or later though!!!
Great revise and what you guys enjoy doing, don't stop enjoy it 🤘
Well done finding the watch!
You got a new watch?
Nope, went out and found my old one!! Its in my latest upload haha
It looks like you lost your watch at the jump up mate, if you look at the footage 🤘
Exactly what I did when I got home, went out and found it 5 days later!
@RoostGumps Just got my answer to my question in the next upload LOL. Good spot bradwk!
Good to see it wasn't bugged 🙂
Are you in blackbutt forest?
What area of qld is this?
Yewww
Got a strange feeling you don't really like vines Max
😂
Haha im making a compilation of all my dummy spits 🤣
Happy new year
Happy new year!!
hey bud, where are you riding, those tracks look grouse 👌
I see you have the plastic cover on swingarm...I did to..until one day I took it off. My swingarm was butcherd from sand coming behind and acted as a sandpaper. Took it of and put it in the carbage
Thats why I run foam behind my swingarm and frame protectors 👌 don’t have any issues
@@RoostGumps yeah I had some foam but probably not enough. Cheers
@@Motoinc if you watch my last video of bike work/prep you will see the high density foam I use. Works awesome
@@RoostGumps thank you I will do that. because the idea of the cover is brilliant. Cheers from Sweden
Glad your on a good track mate. Maybe some reviews on the part you use on the bikes would be good 👌
How good are vans
Great work mate, I'd like to give it a go sometime 😏
Other than the vines, how did the new tread go mate
Bloody awesome mate! So much better. I will do a bit of a review video later on. Also planning on doing a complete compilation of all the times I throw my toys out of the cot and all the crashes and mishaps I have footage of from the year lol.
😅 sounds good
Nice footage boys. Looks good riding. Mike from mountain shade.
Nice, nothing like a wet ride 😏
I can’t do super hot days anymore. I’ll ride in the morning or I’ll practice stuff on my own, but I think I’ve aged out of 4-6 hours in the heat and humidity.
You're living, bruh
Super cut of Rex falling over please
Some hectic tracks man nice 👌 👏
what is the ktm like
I love it. Its like all the advantages of having a big bore 2 stroke with none of the old drawbacks. No mixing fuel, no vibration, never fowl plugs, torque for days, light and nimble.
Yewww
I once did a reverse superman. Hit a log with a bit of speed which flicked the the fount up and it throttle twisted in my hand and the bike jumped up vertical and flew through the air five meters. I was horizontal looking past my toes just praying I didn't land on the bike. Wish it was caught on film lmao.
Your so very lucky to have such good riding so close to home mate. Great mix of fast flowing stuff and slow tight stuff.
Super spoilt! This one is literally a 2 minute ride from my garage
No offence mate, but maybe get a bit of footage from rex on ya rides together. From his his point of view 🙂
None taken at all mate. I'll see if I can convince him to strap it on and get some, I think it would be funny to hear his commentary haha.
@@RoostGumps ha ha sounds like a great experiment 😆
Just a thought not trying to tell you how to do things but my thinking I would have the factory fan the main fan to have run on your switch and use the extra fan to run of thermo switch operating my thoughts is that the manufacturer located there for a reason obviously most efficient location straight from water pump ? faster you cool it less heat soak/transfer of heat to radiators there for less heat return to engine
Yeh you are probably right, being closer to the water pump it likely favors that radiator over the left one. Would just require more wiring work to set it up that way. Definitely something we could look at if we found this setup not to work as we had hoped. From our one ride so far we have found it to be quite good. Will do some more testing before we review though.
Are the fans side specific or universal? And where'd u find the other fan?
That 300 is music to my ears!
How in the earth u can compare the two? The wr îs a heavy bike, with old tehnolgy, and a very stiff frame, outdated engine brakes and suspenson, good only to use in fireroads
The KYB sss suspension is 100x better than anything WP has ever put out. After the KTM I might just end up on Beta or Sherco simply for the KYB. If we were doing more generic offroading and more MX type stuff I would rather the WR, but for this kind of tighter riding the 300 is worlds away.
Nice trail guys
