When I was a very young little girl I always wanted to meet Red Skelton and Meadow Lark Lemon of the Harlem Globe Trotters. Well I want to add Judge Caprio to my wish list. Red Skelton's catch phrase was "Good night and may God Bless. Meadow Lark Lemon was talented of course and also a kind person. Judge Caprio embodies kindness, compassion and he to is a man I truly respect. These gentleman along with my Dad are the Male heroes in my life.

I got this book for Christmas and started reading it and once I see that the author interjects her liberal mindset into what she believes John would have done now, 42 years later is utter bullshit! No one can say what he would do now as he has been dead for 42 years! I’m ready to through my copy in the trash!

This book is not a Biography it is a way for people like Lesley-Ann Jones to earn money by publishing uneducated and false information about the dead who are not in a position to argue their case. Meanwhile the trusting reader believes everything she has written and has no idea of the truth only to form a bad opinion of those mentioned. Books like this make me sick, it is an example of yet another author cashing in on the name of John Lennon that once again won't be the last time..... its like saying; I know someone who knows someone who knows a Beatle so I must be qualified to write a book. Of the people Lesley-Ann Jones mentions in this short interview let alone her book, John Lennon, Alfred Lennon, Julia Lennon, Cynthia Lennon or Aunt Mimi, etcetera how many did she actually interview in person to get their actual accounts??? Her book wasn't published until 2020. They had all long since died beforehand. Lesley-Ann Jones, claims; “Abandonment, his father ran off and went to sea when he was a baby'. "Went off to sea and never came back.” Really, Lesley-Ann Jones??? The Facts in relation to, Lesley-Ann Jones opening comments on John Lennon's father, Alf: • Alfred Lennon joined the Merchant Navy as a Bell Boy/Ships Waiter in 1930, some ten years before John Lennon was born. So Alfred Lennon clearly never 'Ran off'! And was on the scene as often as he was allowed to! • Between voyages Alf was allowed to stay at the home of Julia Stanley’s parents at, 9 Newcastle Road, during which time Alf taught Julia Lennon to play the banjo, who in turn would teach John Lennon who then progressed to the guitar to become one of the Beatles. • John Lennon’s birth certificate shows his father’s home address as being that of, 9 Newcastle Road, the home of John Lennon’s grand parents on his mother Julia’s side. • On, 9th October 1940 the day John Lennon was born, Alf Lennon was away at sea working on troop transporters doing his duty serving King and country during WW2. • Whilst at sea Alf arranged regular payments of his wages to be paid to Julia upon collection from the local branch of the company. • In 1942 Julia Lennon met, behind Alf’s back, a Welsh soldier known as Taffy Williams, who was stationed at Mossley Hill barracks in Liverpool. Julia fell pregnant by Williams in late 1944. • Being the decent man that Alf Lennon was, when he eventually returned to Liverpool on 13th January 1945, he offered to look after Julia, their son and the expected baby, but Julia rejected the idea and told Alf their relationship was over. • Julia gave birth on 19th June 1945 to her daughter named, Victoria Elizabeth Lennon. However, Taffy refused to except John as his son and so their relationship ended. • As World War 2 ended on, 2nd Sept 1945 just 3 weeks before John Lennon’s 5th birthday Alf Lennon had been deprived the father son relationship he himself had missed out on during his own childhood. Julia later met Bobby Dykins and lived with him but after considerable pressure from her childless sister, Mimi who twice contacted Liverpool's Social Services and complained about the infant sleeping in the same bed as Julia and Dykins, Julia reluctantly handed the care of her son over to Mimi. Alternatively, Social Services could have put John Lennon into care or up for adoption then none of his family would have seen him again. Living with his Aunt Mimi was the best outcome all round. Alfred Lennon was the father of John Lennon who due to circumstances not necessarily of his own making never got to be John’s dad as he would have chosen to be. There is a great deal more I could add in relation to this interview and the rubbish Lesley-Ann Jones has stated in her biography but unlike her, I have no wish to write a book myself.

David, you should have asked, Lesley-Ann Jones, from where her source of information come from other than her own misguided opinions.

If all judges were like you, you would not be a sensation but the opposite is true, unfortunately.
