I’m glad you noticed cuz I spent so long on those curls lmao. The trick is to use a curves effect and increase the contrast so the rotobrush has an easier time, then turn off the curves effect.

Took a few days to edit, spread over winter break. There is no one person or creator or inspiration that will magically teach you, it’s all about doing it, and getting better at it over time.

I think resolve is a very good tool for a new editor to learn the important things, pacing, storytelling, and color. Moving forward I think that resolve has *opportunities* for deep, advanced motion graphics, but I’ve never seen the animation work of a davinci user be as good as an adobe user. There’s a warped view of what video editing is being thrown around, and there is a difference between an editor and a motion graphics artist, the lines are starting to blur a bit. As a beginner, focus on what tells the compelling story and makes the most intriguing, informational video. If you want to move on to advanced animating, it won’t be that hard to switch to Adobe. That’s my take 🤷‍♂️
