This shit is so dumb. Like everyone else, I started liking Kam after the viral "I like rocks" interview on Kill Tony. He did alright at first for a young green comedian but over time having to perform a new minute of material every single week is hard as fuck to do especially on a massive platform like that show. Over time I assume it became more difficult for him like it would for anyone who's new to comedy so there were periods where he would rehash previous minutes or often just say the "N" word because it's part of his vocabulary and instinctually came out a lot on stage. I'm not defending this but I do get it. What I will defend though is this weird hatred people have for him to this very day and use the same old excuses to hate him even though the issues they have with him are things he doesn't even do anymore. He hasn't repeated a single joke in months, he maybe says the "N" word twice during the entire minute set + interview instead of a billion times like he use to. This dude saw all the criticisms that people were saying about him online and literally changed the way he speaks on stage because he wanted to improve. Go listen to him now compared to how he talked a year ago. He's more articulate and he enunciates his words more. He's growing as a comedian and it shows in his comedy. The guy has had pretty great sets over the course of the past 2 months and no one gives him credit for it. There are times where I'm even surprised at how well he does and then I go look at the comments and people are still bitching about him using the same insults that aren't even relevant anymore. It's almost like I'm watching a completely different video than what they are and it doesn't make sense to me. Ever since Kam started touring and gathering actual material to use for his sets, they've been pretty consistent. Even the crowd acknowledges when he does really well so why do incels in the comments not? I can be jaded and don't care for most of the regulars but even I know he can be funny. It just seems like people make up their minds and then double down on their opinions without a chance of changing it because they would rather bathe in drama and would prefer to just hate everything. Like, I get why people don't like Hans Kim. Every time he comes on, he does the same lazy hack racist jokes over and over. He never improves even when he takes time off from the show and comes back. Kam on the other hand is ALWAYS evolving and doing better. For fucksake, the kid has only been doing comedy for like what? 3, maybe 4 years? Considering how much he's improved since he started being a regular, I really think he has potential to be an incredible comedian a decade from now but degenerates wont even give him a chance to grow even more and it's crazy. I see the potential that Tony sees in him and I guarantee everyone is going to feel like idiots when he blows up years from now when he unlocks that potential.
