I get to work with construction technology everyday and I want to share that experience and bring awareness and know how to get the most out of the features that you may or may not know about in the industry. What did you mean at the end when you were talking about “focus” point? I understand when you press the button of bucket it changes the point to left, centre, or right, but the focus point stayed the same until you said “link to focus point”. What is each point representing?
Focus point is related to horizontal offsets when you have a horizontal line selected, it will be the off-line measurement from that focus point. For example, on a dozer if the focus point is on the right and on your line, you would have a zero off-line measurement, but if it was on the left, you’re off-line measurement would be the width of your dozer blade. I link to the guidance for a quick way to move my vertical guidance on the blade.
I got this system on a d10T2 and am wondering if it’s possible to create a plan for flat Cat ? Without having to load a pre made plan from a usb
Yes go into select design in your menu and on the right side you’ll see flat plane. Follow the prompts and you’ll be able to create a flat pad without an office design

We have one and the grader operator loves it for tight spaces and the other operators seem to adjust to it well also. Btw the auto grade is not standard on it. It’s extra.

why did they put the older logo onto a new machine?
It was a originally a field follow machine before we owned it, the new trade dress had not made it to that machine yet

Easily with a skid that size. You can adjust the pitch on it. Works great for us

How to put it on auto mode ? I have Volvo 350E excavator and i dont have manuel/auto option in the bottom
If you have the license, you would go into the lower right menu on a vertical display. There is auto mode in there and you would have to arm it. Again you have to have the hardware and license installed on the machine and display or ec520

so if you just had 2d set up then the smart system on the skiddy would use the grade you programmed in ? i wish you would have shown it working that way vs full GPS

We are using MS995 receivers. There is an all constellation code on them meaning we are picking up 4 constellations. it helps tremendously. I will say this particular spot we were using 2D grade control, locking at 2% and the operator was controlling the elevation. The GPS was on there purely to test the limits. IT was a ton better, but we were not "locked" RTK through the thick of the trees

Doesn’t need to bud, it’s 2023. Gps is on everything. It makes even the best blade hands better.
