I'd argue that they were motivated by world domination, especially Volgin and his obsession with the Philosopher's Legacy, but through the Boss. I did play this game and write the script a couple months ago so I could be misremembering a few things, but the main conflict throughout the series, Big Boss vs Zero, as well as the motivations of Liquid, Solidus, and kind of Skull Face, is about misinterpreting the Boss' will for a world in one piece. The way Zero interprets that is one new world order under the Patriots, and the way the Cobra Unit and Volgin interpret that is one world dominated by one military group

Okay that does make sense, I do remember her getting her own health bar and menu, and I will accept the fact that I am dumb, but to be fair, they introduce that two character menu mechanic at the last possible opportunity, I don't really get how I was supposed to figure that out since it was only established then

@@tazzi06 ohhhhh that makes a lot of sense. Yeah I actually haven’t seen any of the bond movies so that flew right over my head lol. Also, I have already played all the games, I just finished 5 a couple weeks ago, and wrote the scripts way ahead of time so I could play them all back to back. And while I do have major problems with 4, the main being what they do with Revolver, the way 4 is a sequel to each game individually, and completely recontextualizes snake eater by revealing that you were playing as the Patriots is literally my favorite thing a video game has ever done. I did think it was unnecessary Sigint was Donald Anderson, but that’s also completely redeemed by MGSV when they get into Zero’s and XOF’s ties to DARPA and armstech, given he’s an original Patriot. @@CarterMcSwaggins yeah the whole snake eater opening sequence is a straight james bond opening parody. A lot of the caution music has james bond style motifs. Major Zero even goes on a long codec rant about how much he loves james bond if you manage to get that one haha

I wasn't even gonna respond to this, but after two minutes of reading the wikipedia page and gaining the most surface level knowledge on the topic, it's already blatantly clear that this is one of the most fundamentally incorrect comments I've ever gotten If this were true in Far Cry 3, it would take the already awful white savior storyline of Jason Brody, and make it even worse by building off of colonization and basically be Ubisoft calling it a good thing. But just looking at this factually, this is a horrible excuse for their white savior plot. Again, two minutes of glancing at the wiki page and I know that this concept is not only a result of colonization of Melanesian people, but it became staggeringly rare once Melanesian countries gained political independence in the 1970s, forty years before Far Cry 3 takes place, but it's such an outdated and useless term that anthropologists almost never use it, the one exception being metaphorical use outside of anthropology. It pushes a horrendous stereotype, and if you genuinely use this as an excuse for Ubisoft's lackluster storytelling, you're only making the game, Ubisoft, and yourself look worse

Okay, I can definitely think of a few games that fit that description of being enjoyable from the gameplay despite it's lack of story telling (the entire Mario franchise) but one, just because a game comes from a studio that is known for telling bad stories does not excuse it from the criticism of having a bad story, and two, I found practically nothing to redeem it in the gameplay, open world, or characters. The second you take a closer look and analyze this game it completely falls apart. There's too much to get into in a RUclips comment, I do suggest you watch my full video just to see where I'm coming from

@@zedmaik thanks! I never really got around to Far Cry 4, I remember downloading it at 3 am, playing the opening, and turning it off cuz I didn’t have the mental bandwidth to play it and never touched it again lol. Maybe I’ll get around to it one day tho

@@SystemBD as a goblin who grew up in a damp cave I do have trouble understanding simple concepts, but I’m gonna stand by what I said. Loco Roco’s gameplay, or at least the representation of it by Astro, is comparable to a mobile game, and not even a high end one. It takes more skill to play Temple Run than it does to play the LocoRoco section of the game, and it has almost no redeeming qualities in characters you unlock, and especially not the music. The actual music in the track sounds like the intro to a ripoff of Rugrats, and it’s accompanied by the voice of a young child speaking made up nonsense the entire time which made my brain itch. I can’t understand how people could like that section of the game, but I understand and respect that they do, and it’s just not for me, which is fine. It just REALLY leans into the things that aren’t for me, to the point that it was grating to get through

@@andrewlynch4488 that does make sense, but if that’s the case, its weird they did one for PSP and not the Vita. If they see the two as interchangeable, I would’ve much preferred the gameplay variety of a Gravity Rush game for the vita instead

@@nuthouseproductz yeah I didn’t even know this game had co op tbh lol. Honestly I have no interest in returning to this franchise, except for Blood Dragon. It looks more goofy and more fun. Probably not any time soon, but I am definitely interested in covering it
