Thank for sharing such a thoughtful, articulate and vulnerable message with those of us who have a special interest in the themes you explored whether we come to that from personal experience or from personal concern for clients and loved ones. It is tempting to explore several aspects of this conversation as if we have all evening sitting over coffee, but I am moved to share that you remind me (I have not experienced military combat/war) how often a key to survival in situations that we control depend on the ability to know and accept that many circumstances in which we find ourselves affirm that every day invites both joy and sorrow, grace and grief, challenging both my ability and willingness to make peace with that paradox. Again, thank you for your gift and for still being here.

This is incredible helpful for me. I'm realizing just now how deep my affect phobia runs. As someone whose always loved live theatre because of the thralling display of emotions, it's really surmising to learn that I'm so scared of many different emotions within myself. Thank-you for posting this and for your wonderful website!
