Solas absolutely betrays the Inquisition. He had prior knowledge that he withheld that could have saved countless lives at Haven, to say the least. He was going to just sneak off, do the ritual, and kill the vast majority of the people of Thedas (genocide) without telling us, and even when he does, he just says "enjoy the time you have left" and fucks off. I really, really don't understand the fascination people have with him, especially the weirdos that want to tear down the veil in VeilGUARD

The big three choices from Inquisition that I wish they would have acknowledged in Veilguard; who drank from the Well, who was left behind in the Fade, and who you installed as Divine. Who drank from the Well is the chief among these that people have already discussed to death. Who was left behind should matter because if it was Hawke then all of the DA2 characters could immediately be aggro (save Varric) against the Inquisitor should we bump into them, or if it was the Warden Contact then obviously visiting Weishaupt they would probably be pretty up in arms about it. The Divine I think matters because I believe we will be meeting the Black Divine in this game, and he would ABSOLUTELY have something to say about Vivienne being on the sunburst throne, and otherwise how the new Divine treats mages post rebellion. I can understand not wanting to include most choice from Origins, but to only include ONE CHOICE from the base game of Inquistion is frankly insulting. It's not just about major plot ramifications, but the smaller A HA! moments where you're glad you did something one way over the other

This is the first I'm hearing of Bellara being speculated as the traitor mage, I've seen exclusively that it will be Neve. That would be cool though

The animation style seems designed for a younger audience, who generally wouldn't have played the older games. I think a clean break would have been better (zero "keeps"), but including ones from only the most recent title seems reasonable to me. Of all the criticism, the gripes about keeps is among the least important in my book. I'm also a bit concerned about how this will work for people (including myself) who never finished any of the older DA games.

I was so ready for Vivian to betray me that I was a jerk to her. Not just because she was mage but because she had a silver tongue. I regret that now. I'm not going to assume anything.

I too am in the camp of "Please don't have Lucanis be Zevran 2.0" bc if I wanted Zevran I'd just play Origins again! However so far it seems that they're not going in that direction which thank god. I want this man awkward and I want him to shatter my heart into little pieces. Bellara and Davrin are definitely my next romances too, all of them immediately captured my attention!

DAI and BG3 are so far the only games I have played that involved different romance choices and approval ratings. However both games I knew from the get go who I wanted to romance (team Astarion and egg boy) This is the first time im actually stumped 😆 But I love it. It will force me to really see how their characteristics match with my own Rook and just play along and see where it goes

They killed the game, beyond their political discourse that they want to put into the game, they completely destroyed the lore of the game and the decisions of the other games no longer matter, since this DA was created for the new WOKE generation.

Regarding Kieran. The soul of Uthemiel is either distroyed if the warden is not doing the ritual or lives in Mythal. With Leliana I agree even though if she died in DAO she left after Trespasser unless she became divine. A spirit took her form just like Cole. Could be interesting in the future. The Choice for Fenris dying was not even in the Keep so I think he is considered alive.

I think it's gonna be Harding because she would hurt the most.

This was disappointing news for certain. Hopefully the game can pull it off.

There is a small detail about griffins in Inquisition I have always wondered about. Solas mentions them and seems sad that they were gone. Knowing who he is I wondered about the connection to the ancient elves.

DA2 is indeed a miracle. It is a great story and does have issues. I love your take on Veilguard here. I had been thinking something like this but couldn't quite put my finger on it.

So I am old. I have been a Bioware fan since Baldur's Gate 1 dropped. I am right there with you. I am not expect Veilguard to reinvent the wheel. I do think it will be a good game and a lot of fun.
