What is the pumping sound when engine is still in early video? I'm guessing boiler feed pump?
I couldn’t say for sure but I would guess your guess is probably correct.

Any steam loco's still in service in china?
I believe most at Sandaoling have gone with the track lifted. I was told a couple remain for shunting duties in what is left of the railway yard but do not know for certain.
Do not believe there are any other steam locos in China but happy to be corrected 😃

Wow, didn't know there's steam locomotive in China that's still in service! Seems like a true workhorse, and will work until it falls apart. Although unlikely, I hope it will be preserved in a museum when it finally retires. It deserves a peaceful retirement
