    Let me ask. I tried heating up my harmonica balancer, WD-40, The 3 prong tool, a hammer and still won't budge. Any suggestions? Thanks!

      I would use the tool in the pinned comment ( amzn.to/3Q8xZGJ ) instead of the 3-jaw puller. I would also use PB Blaster instead of wd-40. are you using a ratchet or an impact?

      @@mulletz_garage I Finally got it off. Getting it back on was a bit tuff! Lol It's on there Super Tight. Ran into one problem, the bolt broke off. So, I went ahead and put everything back together, and started it .... I monitored the pulley and no budging or wobble. I'll have to Very Soon correct the broken bolt.

    I reccemond using a tap and die to rethread the hole and a little antiseeze and lock tight on the bolt, torque down with a torque wrench with digital torque gauge and hold for seconds after click done people end up having hard timing after trying to remove a High torque old bolt, and a bolt hasent been removed in a long time it's always good to heat up the bolt first instead of penetrating when you lubricate it doesn't even touch the threads at all metal partial that have broken off of the threads could potentially get jammed while removing and make the process so much horrible so yeah always a impact

    Hello 👋 i have a question and the Internet is giving me mixed answers. I want to replace the front main seal on my gm b207r. I have to remove the harmonic balancer I will use a impact, my question is can i in any way effect the timing of my engine whilst removing or refitting the harmonic balancer. Thanks in advance.

    • @mulletz_garage
      @mulletz_garage Год назад

      It’s an LS engine? If so, no. Timing can’t be effected at all by removing and installing just balancer and front/rear covers. I’d suggest getting new covers with the seals installed already. Plus, balancer has a key way on the crank that needs to be lined up in order to be pressed on.

      @@mulletz_garage Its a 2.0T, 4 cylinder petrol engine its maxed at 300bhp without changing internals. Thanks for your advice, I think the reason I got confused is because you are supposed to lock the flywheel with a tool if you use a ratchet to take of the crankshaft pully (harmonic balancer). I will be using an impact wrench so i dont need to do that step. I guess I just figured if you have to lock the flywheel if using ratchet on the crankshaft bolt then it must be because it moves the timing chain? Many thanks, I asked a few people and you are the only one who has replied. I appreciate that.

    • @mulletz_garage
      @mulletz_garage Год назад

      @@uemackay1592 reason you need to lock the flywheel is because you'll end up just spinning the crankshaft before you're able to get that bolt free

    is it 10.5:01 the reason i ask i was planning a 355 with this cam and supervic II , or should i use an rpm intake, it is a street camaro 2nd gen. well i was also looking at xr294hr and the 300hr and i shall add slightly more compression with those just wondering how streetable is it with 4.56 gears and a th400 with high stall
