Perfect small Waves on friday Afternoon -The Netherlands (31 January 2025)
Today, January 31, 2025, the surf conditions in the Netherlands were characterized by waves in the thigh to waist-high range (2-3 feet), with a swell coming from the west-southwest at approximately 6.2 feet and a 7-second period. The wind was cross-shore, blowing from the southwest at around 15 knots, with gusts up to 26 knots. The weather was partially cloudy, with temperatures around 44°F (6.7°C). 
While the waves were inviting, the cross-shore winds and cooler temperatures might have made conditions less ideal for a relaxed surf session. However, for those equipped with appropriate gear and seeking a refreshing experience, it was still a day to enjoy the North Sea’s offerings.

@@timsurft Yes, Hendaye in May is great for surfing, for beginners and intermediates. The waves are consistent and mellow, the weather is mild, and it’s less crowded before summer. Bring a 3/2mm wetsuit as the water is still cool. It’s a beautiful spot

Keihard! Ik gebruik windguru om te kijken of er surf is, met weinig succes… gebruik jij surfline? En zo ja waar kijk je naar om te weten of er golven zoals deze komen op een dag?
Natuurlijk! Ik gebruik Surfline. Bijvoorbeeld, voor deze dagen, De omstandigheden waren slecht met 4-5 voet WNW en een WNW aanlandige wind van 20 km/u. Meestal wil ik altijd een schone dag met groene of redelijke condities, maar het is moeilijk om dat te krijgen.
@ Thanks! Ja ik heb eens in Bergen aan zee in Noord Holland prachtige surf gehad in oktober. Toen was het 1.3 meter met 6 knopen aanlandige wind maar heb die conditions daarna nooit meer gezien…
Je hebt gelijk. Ik denk dat we hier ook zo’n swell hebben gehad. Als we perfecte golven willen surfen, is het beter om een paar dagen naar Frankrijk of Portugal te reizen. Maar het is zeker bevredigend om perfectie in dit land te vinden!

Are those what you call big dangerous waves? No offense but my 9 year old lil bro usually surfs bigger than those here in Bali and he won't paddle out in such conditon too. Too much wind, makes the waves break uncontrollably
Good, is a big blessing of God that you live in Bali. Not everyone has that. I just don’t have waves like Bali, but I really love surf and I will continue surfing no matter what conditions there are.

Grappig om te zien en het neemt me terug naar de 70ties en begin 80'er jaren toen ik hier zoveel surfde. Lang geleden in de "Go Clap" tijd. Ben inmiddels 63 en woon maar 25 min van Hossegor/Seignosse vandaan, maar surf helaas niet meer. Man.., geniet er van!! 👍👍
Mijn droom is ook om aan die prachtige Franse kust te wonen met mijn vrouw. Ondertussen moeten we hard werken en surfen in de kou. Ik hou van Hossegor, ik ben er maar één keer geweest. Bedankt voor je reactie, ik waardeer het!
