As a DM I never ask for saving throws. It’s more fun to just say “hey, everybody make a Reflex/Dex save!” as an evil wizard is throwing a fireball down a corridor.

Sometimes you get your dm to look at your backstory and when level 10 hits, youve seen your entire party go through story arcs related to their back stories from lvl 3 to 8 and you have yet to see yours.
