This music is SO evocative!!
Have loved this movie for a long time, but it’s the music that gets to me, just beautiful it touch’s you in a way that you actually feel “ her broken heart” Nick Nolte the entire cast was phenomenal , the magic of Dave Grusin one of my all time favorite composers. Just gorgeous all of it …………………
Some of my greatest finds are from movies...piano, strings, sax
So beautiful ❤️
Along with "Chinatown" this is one of my favorite movies and scores. Welcome to the world of Raymond Chandler.
My all time favourite movie theme. Listening to it since 1996.Unmatchable
I can't stop listening to this theme song by Dave Grusin. Just beautifully done.
''You Broke my Heart!''
Desde que la vi me qiede prendado de la pelicula, los actores y que decir de la musica ....expectacular !
SWEET
Its so good but when the lyrics are spoken along with the music. Brings it to life.
Thank you, until now i only knew the version played by pianist Bill Evans! i made a personal transcription/arrangement for symphony orchestra from Bill Evans' version on solo piano. See link on my channel

Beautiful...
难得让我看过4遍的电影。是一段讲述故事的音乐。
LOVE the score. LOVE the movie
Exquisite theme, hauntingly beautiful!
Angela Morley -- Angela Morley -- Angela Morley... my new musical mantra. I'm glad that great 20th century Broadway and movie composers adapted the waltz to create wonderful new music.
Another Dave Grusin masterpiece. Incredible.
Is it just me or does the final 30 minutes turn into a Dial M For Murder like thriller?
This majestic theme should have been nominated for an Oscar. How beautiful to hear this precursor to the wonderful music from Yentl, the same sublime tones and orchestrations, just celestial.
Let me add a HUGE "THANK YOU!" for uploading this hauntingly BEAUTIFUL work!!!❤❤❤
I have been looking for this piece of music without knowing the precise name nor the composer's although it just had the Michel Legrand SOUND! Just rented the movie as soon as it became available through Amazon Prime and saw the correct title and authors of the lyrics. People with gifts such as these musicians have blow my mind!!!!!
Michel Legrand. 🙄
@@joeandjoe34219 auto "INcorrect" 🤣 I will fix.
Unforgettable movie, Unforgettable song.
Just love the sweep of this theme. Brilliant. Dramatic.
Magnifique partition, pour un policier mémorable, à l'énorme casting.
This needs more attention , fucking beautiful <3
Thank you too Sir Clement for uploading this film and theme song. Really thoughtful of you...
One of the most beautiful theme songs in the late 70’s... Thank God for Michel Legrand...
Where can i buy this movie, it was just a wonderful movie.
Buy I don't know, but I have it on Google Drive if you want
@@viniciusr3 I just looked online and it is sold used for a reasonable price. There are many copies available. There are large variations in price and, by the way, the movie was a 1977 release.
The waltz sounds similar to Desiree’s waltz in the movie Desiree ruclips.net/video/HdIqmCFEz4c/видео.html
Très inspiré comme souvent Je vous invite à écouter et peut-être découvrir le thème de : le gang des otages. Sublime thème au piano…
Chanson SUBLIME ❤️
une merveille un peu amère de Dréjac
Thank you for uploading! The quality of this is absolutely fantastic.
Without being all WOKE about it, Angela Morley really should be mentioned more often among other great composers, especially for this, but especially for Watership down; one of my fav soundtracks.
Magnificent
Amazing music...
Best Romance Movie ever

man, what a song
THERE'LL BE TIME From the film "Ode To Billy Joe" (1976) (Music by Michel Legrand / Lyrics by Alan & Marilyn Bergman) There's a time and place we've yet to know There's a sea we've yet to sail Though we saw the mountain long ago It's a peak we've yet to scale There's another world we've yet to find It's a world we've yet to lose There's a winding road yet to find And another yet to choose And there's a tender journey yet to take A sun that waits to rise There are promises we've yet to make Days we'll spend will never end in each others eyes There will be time enough for everything Time for life, time for love Time for us, time for you And time for me
Too bad! No lyrics in this song/instrumental 😒
@@sblair6362 There must be a lyrical version. Those lyrics came from somewhere. I would like to know who did the singing in the lyrical version.
@@jasonburger3533 they are spoken words in the movie. ❤
@@sblair6362 Thank you for the information.
Unbelievably beautiful, sad, haunting. Just a masterpiece.
My sentiments exactly. Regards, The '62 Mathew St. 1-Man-Band (Total Retro Rock)

Does anyone know where to get the violin sheet music for this?
You should contact this website : www.angelamorley.com/ ;-)
@@clementburtscher1036 That's so cool that you actually fulfilled Samantha's request instead of ignoring her -- you actually delivered. Man, I wish I played an instrument...
This is so beautiful l, I’m a violinist and I have been admiring this piece for like forever I soooooo want to learn to play it.
40 Years Later...... there is something so heartbreaking about this particular piece of music.
Michel Legrand at his very best, it is almost like this is what inspired the glorious soundtrack for Yentl.
Definitely it fits the movie perfectly.
un vol pour le sahara ...les comédiens sont bons
belle musique pour s'évader
I've been looking for this for so long! I have it on vinyl but no longer own a record player. Thank you!
Kritzerland reissued the score on CD a few years ago if you want! www.kritzerland.com/ode.htm
@@clementburtscher1036 seriously?? I'll definitely check that out. Thank you!
En fait, la partition de Michel Legrand a été refusée et c'est John Barry qui a signé la musique de ce très bon film. Cela dit, c'est une très bonne chose de l'avoir mise en ligne. Merci à Clement Burtscher.
A wholesome song for young love. Sadly my sons Noel and Shane weren't able to experience the purity and truth that comes with trust in a person. Though my son said he would never love another woman like he loved Terri. though for Noel a much worse fate would await him. Someone had our lives planned out and everyone that came became a part of that plan. I begged for help / protection after a pornography ring I was in and no one listened. The reign of terror and a life lived that no one expected. I didn't place myself in that porn ring at 5 though I would become a prisoner of someone's after for 47 years until I went public and then it became a matter of survival. The people I told on AGAIN started drugging me, beat the fuck out of me and my kids, exploited my kids and I told everyone where to look for years and then i worked on my own case for 37 years until I hunted the people down that did this to me and asked one more time to get the police and a judge because too many people suffered because of someone elses plan. We did nothing, we just became part of their plan. My kids and I endured lengthy brutality and my sons were abducted and had home invasions and just a horror show. But, again you can only wait for help to arrive. I am great at what i do now, I tapped into energy that leads me to crime sights and the criminals hate me, but the victims have no other chance of being found if people like me don't work the case. If the police dont work it then you work it yourself until you find them and you will find them if your good. If you can find the things i do in this world then you can find the people who are waiting to be found. And if you don't believe in what you do you wont be able to do it. That is Gods plan and Gods eyesight not ours, not Angels, not anything other than Truth shining light on bad people and the things they do. And when you have sight that leads you to bring the lost home you give the credit to God not anyone else.
