We are Buffie and Brandon Baril, the mother and son team behind Lovely Franklin. Follow us as we share the historic and fascinating backstories of Franklin, Tennessee.
Founded in 1799, Franklin’s story is like all of our own stories. She's been wounded and has seen pain, but now she is redeemed, stronger and more beautiful.
From the sadness of The Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864, to the happiness of today, Franklin’s story of tragedy to triumph is as intriguing as it gets. Imagine a town filled with charm, beauty, romance, historical significance, and supported by a community dedicated to preserving it all.
Downtown Franklin is appropriately named, “America’s Favorite Main Street.” Her bustling streets, delightful stores and shop owners, and incredible restaurants all make Franklin a distinctively unique town. It’s truly Southern and feels like you’ve stepped into a Hallmark movie.

Enjoy this vintage footage of the Franklin Laundry from 1942-1952. Located at 252 5th Ave. North in Franklin, Tennessee, Franklin Laundry was a vibrant business for the community. This old commercial features owner J.C Anderson and his staff. Today, this building is the home to Storehouse no.9 Outdoor and owned by Sam and Jill Johnson who also own Storehouse no.9 at 320 4th Avenue North in Franklin.

The new home owners are now on a national stage- the chatter amongst the preservationists around the country is pretty loud right now- on all platforms. There is absolutely a solution and it isn't in destroying this building- if everyone gets way outside of the box with possibilities the answers will come.
