Really enjoyed watching this thank you very much for sharing! It's people like you who keep the dream alive for the rest of us! Good luck and happy hunting! Cheers from Hong Kong)
Yes I want to be a treasure hunter.😊😊😊
Anything from a wreck is interesting even the wood if it survived. Often I thought how cool it would be to have a cannon or two. Ballast stone with LASER etched pictures of sailing ships, whatever works.
You got me pumped. I live in Corpus Christi, right by the Gulf. There have been Spanish Gallons sunk off our coast but most sunk at or near Padre Island National Sea Shore, which is a 150 mile strip of island going from Corpus Christi, down to Brownsville. It is illegal to metal detect either on shore or off shore like you are doing. Plus we have the Texas Antiquities Commission that also guard our coast from treasure hunters. That being said, if there is a will there is a way. Any suggestions?
like how you keep it real. your down to earth teaching is very rare! in this politically correct age. Excellent, i'm subscribing...!
I would love to come diving & hunting with you!!!! It has been in my blood since I was a kid.... I have owned many detectors. Started off with a $120 Garrett
May I ask you ware you got your merely detor so I may get one thanks
Just to be down there with the history would be amazing
Congrats..on living the dream...when you love what you do,it is not work, good hunting
Good to know, someone gave me a piece of 8 said to be worth thousands when I was in hospital. After keeping it safe for months, a nurse found it and I stupidly revealed that it could be worth lots of money. Less than a couple weeks later I discover it was stolen and there was nothing I could do about it
Florida Life! Great Video!
Wow can I work with you sir
The book, Dive to a flash of gold. It tells all about the 1733 fleet, and mine came with a map, and the book describes all the ships and locations
I found one metal detecting. It is coated in 16 cts gold and worn around the neck like yours. I have it and will cherish it greatly. Thank you!
Very nice! Are these for customer orders or will they be available to purchase from the Cannon Beach Treasure Company?
This particular coin was a custom piece for a customer. But you can find our Consolacion 1681 Pirate Treasure coins here cannonbeachtreasure.com/collections/treasure-of-isla-de-muerto
Looks great.
Thanks, very good video, born and raised in S. FL. Know a few treasure guys, bought some over the years found a bit too, I really love the artifacts, like Lignumvite deadeyes, bronze fittings, and all kinds of deck hardware. It tells a great story. The silver and gold is great, however lots of kinds of treasures. For years I owned a long keel spike from Nelsons ship, found in the Rio Plata. I amy fascinated by cannons. It is all a wonderfull adventure and I highly recomend adventures. Thank you so much.
Great video! There’s nothing in the coin market more fascinating than treasure 💰 💰

Love to see others living the childhood dreams. It's like a fairytale coming true for you guys. Just makes you feel good for someone else. I'm 64 and getting dive certified soon. It will be some 40 years that I last did any diving. Could just say that's it's on my bucket list. God Bless you all and I wish you all the best of luck. Love the video and hope to see many more.
Can you identify a glass float with a picture of the seal on it?
You can message us on Facebook and Miss Abi can take a look and see if it is identifiable. Pls make sure the photos are in focus - if you can't see the design, neither can we. Pls take a couple of photos at different angles, and we will try to help you with it. Cheers! Robert
I loved your video, i wanna try this summer any suggestions?
you are a blessed man
When did the Japanese stop using glass floats for fishing?
Hey that is a really great question! The peak use of the floats was from 1910-1960s. We saw them almost completely drop out of use by the mid 60s, in favor of plastic floats which were cheaper and more durable. However, you did still have some small family fleets still hand-blowing floats for many years later. Which makes these beach gems that much more special to find! You can find more information on these coastal treasures by clicking on the link in the description.
Cool! Thanks for the info.

After 280 years silver would oxidize, kind of weird many of those coins look like they just came out from electrolysis.
+Self Stirring Pot Valid point, but not all pieces oxidize in the same way, depending how far below the surface of the sand they were, and the surrounding artifacts.
This is great, thanks for sharing this, now I wanna go treasure hunting in the harbor of Copenhagen ;-)
+Lasse Lohse Sounds like LOTS of fun!
this is the one example of stooled wealth of india when they came as a trader.. Shah Jahan was a great Muslim leader of that time..
janan747 I shall endeavor to correct your skewed world view in a polite manner, and offer that you will get respect simply by being respectful yourself. Nothing was stolen from India - had the coins remained in India, they would most certainly been melted down by locals (as usually happens), or other rulers and been lost to time. The ship was on its way to the Orient when it sank in 1702 off the southern coast of Sri Lanka. Many of the coins and artifacts were donated to the museum in Colombo, plus Clarke donated many more pieces to the Smithsonian. It is because of museums that amazing pieces of history survive, instead of being looted by locals in the countries of origin and sold to black market dealers. And because of Clarke (and his two books) and the work we did with the remains of the treasure, the world now knows a great deal more about this time in history. Arthur, Carl and I tried to work out a salvage deal with Sri Lanka to recover the remainder of the coins on the site. I had Patrick Stewart signed on to host a two hour documentary, and we were going to give all of the coins to the museum in Colombo. But the government was so corrupt we couldn't get anything worked out. Mr. Stewart was gracious enough to let us out of our deal when the project went south due to no fault of our own. Now the site is routinely looted by local divers taking tourists out who bribe them. As for your statement regarding Shah Jahan, I never judge history by today's norms - only a foold does such a thing. In my documentary about the discovery, we quote historians of the time saying Shah Jahan was the last great Mughal emperor of the time. But I have studied history enough to know that there are always at least two sides (and usually more) to any story. And by Shah Jahan's own words, on his death bed, he wrote to his sons, "The instance in power has passed, and left only sorrow behind it. I have not been the guardian of the empire."
Perhaps its one of those things where you should have been there? We personally found that experience to be wonderful and out of a movie almost.
What was so funny about that story. I have seen adults do the same thing using bigger toys.
Larry342516 So you don't think it was a funny and cute story?
