It depends how quickly the FA arms will sign. Sasaki's situation is still murky despite the ESPN report and Boras is notorious to stretching out negotiations to squeeze every last dollar for his clients, so Snell and Burnes will likely stretch into 2025. If say, Fried is open to signing quickly, then the Dodgers may go for him and wait to see how the Sasaki situation develops. If they are able to get one FA arm by say, mid-december, I think Flaherty is out. They could then turn to other players in FA or trade to address their infield, corner OF, and bullpen spots. Running it back would be a fatal mistake given the expected improvements their rivals are expected to make. If they could somehow secure Kim early (another Boras client however), that would be ideal. For me, other FA options who might sign early are: Rodgers, Minter, Hoffman, Estevez, Kikuchi, Scott, and Bieber. I think the Dodgers might also go down the trade path. Those possibles include: Gilbert, Gray, Yoshida (more of my personal preference and likely not on Friedman's list), Hoerner, Steele, and Hensley. I am not including Williams because Milwaukee will ask for the moon and may elect to wait until the trade deadline to exploit desperate teams.

I can't see them resigning Jack if they are going to get Roki, with Ohtani coming back..we would have OHtani, Yamamoto, Glasnow, Gavin Stone and Roki, Plus we have landon Knack River Ryan, Emmet Sheehan, May and Gosling coming back, that is 5 more potential starters. I have a feeling Dustin May and Gosling are gonna get traded somehow.

Funny you mention Steve Sax. My all-time favourite Dodger. I'm still not over him leaving. One time after a game against the Expos I ran into him, John Shelby and Jeff Hamilton at the airport in Montreal, and they signed their baseball cards and my Dodgers pennant for me. They actually took a few minutes to talk to me and joke around. As a young Dodger fan at the time, it meant the world to me and still does. Great guys.

Kike was a different player once he got his eyes checked during the AS break. It continued into the playoffs. So the question is did he earn a starting job? I would not be surprised to see a team offer him 2-3 years starting at 10 mil offering him a starting job. So now Friedman has to decide the same, did he earn a full time starting job and is he worth that kind of contract.

Friedman has signed him 3 times so he will make a good offer. But if a team like the Giants overpays because they delight in poaching Dodgers, Friedman won't overpay.

We should be looking at his stats from the time he got his eye glasses!

Can't count the dodgers out. They will sign Teo and Soto.

Does Rushing have to play left? What numbers would he likely put up next year as the starting left field? Would he play DH when Shohei pitches? Can Shohei ever play 1st to give Freddy a day off? Can Rushing play 1st?

If it's a one year with a club option, I think the Dodgers will agree. But Teo, understandably, will want, and will likely get, a three year somewhere. It wouldn't surprise me if a division rival makes a pitch for him or one of the NY teams that doesn't get Soto (unlikely, as that decision may drag on until next year and Teo may sign earlier). Philly and Toronto (again) may be in play. He will have suitors. The question is, who can the Dodgers get that is an upgrade? Maybe a trade for Yoshida to platoon with Pages? Santander would almost be a lateral move: power over contact, average to below average defensively, but did drop off in average. He is 2 years younger and is a switch hitter with more power from the left. Either way, the Dodgers should not move Mookie and create a hole that is more difficult to fill. IMO, there is more talent available to fill an infield position than a corner outfield spot.

Teo has a thing where he does great one year, then meh the next. He'll want 6 years. He's 31, so maybe 2 good seasons left? Plus he'd block Rushing. Either way it's gonna hurt whether we sign him or not

I can't see the Dodgers paying another Otahni contract for Soto when they already have productive guys at his position and Rushing deserving of a shot. I can see them snagging a good pitcher not represented by Boras, or trading for Crochet, but I think they'll start the season with most of the same guys.

I think the Dodgers should avoid adding more "1B/DH/LF" defensive types, regardless of how good they are offensively. Go for signing/trading for an every day SS or CF who is competent defensively and decent with the bat.

For some reason, it won't let me post in the live chat, so I will just say this regarding free agents: I hope the team mimics what KC and SD did last off-season and makes quick signings and trades while the big boys are focused on the spotlight free agent, which is Soto this year. I would like the team to quickly secure Scott, Fried, and hopefully, Kim. Kim would be iffy since he's a Boras client and he will be trying to make a statement to restore his reputation, which is why I eliminated Burnes and Snell who he will want extended years at an over-inflated AAV. The Dodgers could go down the path of high risk/high reward targets like Bieber and/or Moncada or Rodgers. Potential trades that have a50-50 likelihood include: Gilbert, Hoerner, Yoshida, and Finnegan. My dream trade would be a package for Royce Lewis and Duran. I am not a fan of Adames who has been trending down across the board and only perked up last season in his walk year, which is always a red flag. His hitting profile is redundant of the power over contact batters in the current lineup and would further imbalance the lineup. and yeah, I would let Flaherty, Teo, and Buehler walk unless it's on a one year deal with a club option. Although Soto fits the profile of a player Friedman typically pursues maniacally: extremely productive, generational talent ceiling, and yet to enter his prime, there are too many needs and not enough spending space. The pitch, if he makes one to Soto, would be a shorter term (five years with a three year opt out) and high AAV ($70 million per) and test to see if Soto really wants a chance to play with ohtani and get multiple rings. I don't think Boras would go for it and would do everything in his power to convince Soto to reject it. Hopefully, that scenario happens quickly so the Dodgers can focus on other players.
