1972 222ccp just bought one 2 hours ago
🦅
They have grown up around hearing and smelling the equipment. Its not seen as a predator so don't waste energy and miss out on food. Eat poop sleep breed. Except hunting season humans can cause accidents, so stay weary, outrun or die with cars, equipment is noisy but slow
Good luck with the move! I will be looking forward to seeing you resume the restoration!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching! Good luck on your build!
I'm rebuilding a 1973 240 aquasport now it was a inboard with a sidesole. I did a 1976 22-2 about 10 years ago great boat. Great stuff!
Great build and thanks for sharing. Where are you located? You’ll be much better off going with a flotation bracket. These 222s are sensitive to weight of the heavier 4strokes.
Been looking for one. They are just so expensive. I raised the floor 3", all the wood is being replaced with Coosa (30% weight savings so they say), and shifted the tank forward. Also, with the bit of flotation the bracket gives... hoping it will sit right. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for the episode. I like the go board knowledge. Keep the videos coming, I really appreciate how consistent you are with the vid uploads. I have a boat project that's in its 8th month and I'm battling with getting her done. I've watched you from the first vid and I'm jealous of all the space you have in your shop. Its going to make painting soooo much easier. Keep up the good work. I can't wait to see your project in the water.
Much appreciated! The Go Board has worked out well… you’ll see in the next episode. Yes the shop is a must have… probably wouldn’t have tackled this if I had to do an outdoor build. Thanks for watching!
My dad still has a few of them… Thanks for watching!
Shout out to the ole super sixty! I started with one and wish I had a clock made out of one! Great video! When is the fish fry?
Thanks for the shout out!
Nope, depends on incoming clarity. If seen it aqua blue but it usually not good viz. I’ve dove it a few times.
Is that water over there usually pretty clear? I'm trying to find some more bridges to spearfish
Hay nice project. Just came across your video and see that you might be having a tough time sanding the transom. Once you put the compound on start sanding within 20 minutes and it will sand like butter easily done by hand blocking. It’s the same as body filler if you wait too long it’s like sanding concrete. 28 years in a body shop pro tip. I hope that helps, can’t wait to see it done.
Thanks for the tips!
Glad you picked up a trick to help you along the way! Thanks for watching! Share the channel 💪
Dang this is going to help me so much with my boat build! Those cuts along the coosa to add flex is so simple but so genius at the same time! Thanks 🙌🏼
Brooks said Thank you for the shout out! He loves the merch!
lol yeah I thought that too… thanks for watching
That’s a good idea I bet it would go really good if you had someone helping, like the old days with two guys sawing down trees
Why did you cut the top
You mean cap? I’m boxing the transom in and cutting those two pieces out made things much easier. Thanks for watching 👍
lol it does! That’s a great idea on the sander. I’m gonna check that out 👍 thanks for watching
Man you and I are about in the same spot on projects, This fairing takes forever! I did do myself a favor and went and bought a $90 harbor freight flat pneumatic sander, talk about a life saver. Keep up the good work I enjoy sharing the misery haha!
Thanks for watching!
I'm glad to see you taking this on. No boat wants to sit in a yard.
Good boat to dive with kids... Capt and crew are great... you aren't going to fill the fish box so don't have that expectation.
IM INTERESTED
If you raise the floor up like three inches or more it will help a lot in keeping water out of the boat, especially if you’re going to be diving out of it
Thanks for heads up and for watching! I was hoping by shifting my fuel tank forward a foot (or 1 1/2 feet) and also have my battery compartment up front, that would offset some of the weight of tanks. If I raise the floor any higher I'll have to adjust the gunnel brackets also. Yes, my main goal dive boat when finished. All the best!
Well… better to over build than under… thanks for watching Larry! give me some advice for the future… like how much glass do I need on the deck? Front and back? That would be helpful…
That is way too much glass and coosa for that little boat and engine, we do the same thing for 36 foot boat with twin 350 mercury and brackets!
❤❤
That stinks! Good luck! Thanks for watching
Beats replacing a hub on the side of the road, which is what I'm doing, waiting on parts, after a crap day of fishing
Thanks for watching 😊
I feel your pain with the gel coating dust and a flap disc.
Yep, my tools are hiding in plain sight all the time 😂.
That’s awesome! This had a 165 hp in it… Thanks for watching!!
My Dad had one of these on LBI in Jersey. Originally had a Chrysler 125 later replaced with a Mercury 175. We beat the hell out of it and had a lot of fun. Great to see this a project boat.
Useful information re: how much resin you started with. I realize I need only a gallon for my smaller transom.
Nice video sr
Thanks appreciate you watching
That would be nice
I wish they'd put a drain at the back bottom of the tank with a line run to the transom, you could completely drain and flush the tank off you ever get water or sediment in it
Yeah I debated wood vs Coosa for awhile…. I kept going back (jumping forward in my mind) to the day I sell it…. I can advertise as a “wood free” hull. I should recoup the extra expense then… If I don’t sell it… my grand kids will have a nice boat lol.. thanks for watching 😊
Great job and it will be like new even when the dinosaurs come back! But that said, seems like a lot of extra work and expense for that small boat should’ve just went back with plywood it would last another 40 or 50 years
Hi I am 12 and I do falconry as well
That’s awesome! It’s a fun a rewarding hobby! Keep it up 👍
Don’t be afraid of that that bird bring you arm in closer and don’t chicken wing hold that bird I am also a falconer
yes
It would be better to just relax and as little eye contact as possible
Sweet! I hope to have this ol girl up and going! Thanks for watching 👍
