Yes they are generally interchangeable, check the motherboard revision, the only things that change are the RF sheilds and the wifi antenna configuration you should be fine for buttonsand power switches etc,

@@holdenvkv8ify cdromance has a lot of psx2psp eboots that you can play if you are running CFW, there’s also a program that lets you convert ps1 disks to psp (I cover this briefly in my ps1 demo disks on psp video)

are you using the correct conversion plugin as per the video? Have you looked at the original article and set it up yourself? What file format are you starting with before the conversion?

@@silvergray69 and you are folding down the connector tab as well? Might be a break in the ribbon you will need to replace the membrane

@@EverythingPSPOfficial it's hard to explain but it's kinda too late I kept messing with the connector pins in the mother board and one went missing I think that permanently broke cause the left speaker is also not functioning. It's really hard to disassemble this yourself without professional help. Thanks anyway.

@@silvergray69 well if you don’t have the connector tab to hold down the ribbon cable it won’t make a stable connection. You can use some few layers of kapton placed with careful tension to secure the ribbon cable in place and that can often work. PSPs are quite fiddly and they require patience and steady hands to work on, I wouldn’t give up just yet if that’s the only issue you might as well try and fix it, see if you can buy some of that tape and try that, otherwise you will have to replace the motherboard with one that has good connectors, you can get a good one by buying a 2nd hand one with a faulty screen or something but obviously be super careful buying used parts they could be trash anyway. I’d say have a think about how you can fix it and then give it a go. The speaker is connected straight to the motherboard with the two little metal contacts so you might just need to bend the pins back out a bit or reposition the speaker, good luck 🤞🏽

@@Prime1997 it’s very hard to verify quality control on second hand components online, you can verify it’s the correct one simply by checking the layout of the chips on the board compared to your existing one, the psp screen and buttons etc should all line up no matter what version of motherboard you get so long as you get one for a psp 2000 it should be ok. I would reccomend buying a used complete psp maybe with a busted screen or similar fault that is confirmed booting up as that way you know the mobo is good rather than a loose mobo but it’s a bit of a game of chance to be honest

@@EverythingPSPOfficial thanks and something else I want to understand mine was TA-088 but while searching in the internet I found there are 3 versions ( TA-088 v1,v2,v3) do I need to choose the right version or it doesn’t matter what I get ?

@@Prime1997 it shouldn’t matter. Look at the shape and position of the ribbon connector sockets, if it all lines up you should be sweet

Thanks thats great advice, I scrubbed everything by hand with ispropyl alcohol. The corrosion is extensive in this one but I'm happy to report that it's still going strong and sits in our lounge on the console rack and gets use a couple times a week mostly to play super rub-a-dub :P

Have you tried repairing the charging fuse like I did in the video? Get a multimeter and test the fuse first and if there is no continuity you can solder a bridge to restore functionality. If that's not the issue check the battery itself.

@@hundun5604 don’t worry you don’t have to understand. the toothpick was completely embedded in the foot between 2 tendons and couldn’t be removed without making an incision under local anaesthetic. They were doing the scan to locate the toothpick so as to not hack away at my foot unnecessary. It wasn’t a splinter that could be removed easily that’s why I was at the hospital in the first place

@@ShIfTeRZz open up the software version you want and grab the PSP/GAME/PROUPDATE folder 📁 that’s all you need, seplugins and VSH get set up during clean install with default settings.

Saved Data Utility is just your game saves like progress etc. not the actual games themselves. You can back up your saves to your PC via usb connection. All data is stored on your memory card already. The only thing on the internal flash memory is console firmware and settings. You can install ISO and EBOOT games onto your PSP once you have installed CFW. Otherwise you need the original UMD disk for the game you are trying to play.

I want to be able to load PSP games on retroarch, but whenever I go to select the core for the games, there is no PSP option. Is that an option of PSP retorarch that there is no PSP core option, or do I have to dowlaod it somehow?

@@3t3rnalap3x5 I’m not sure sorry I’m sure google can help, I just use PPSSPP for my emulation and it works perfectly with a ton of adjustable settings

Does it show the orange charging light when you put the charger on? The battery can be replaced easily once you take off the back panel. I have a full video discussing repairs of a psp street with no power fuse on my channel that will be helpful for you
