Hey Sonny, I believe I picked up a couple stags in Clovis at Safeway. Other than that, I’ve had a lot of luck in Modesto and Tracy in Safeway, save Mart,with Stagg’s, Taylor’s, Eagle, Weller, Elmer. Oakdale Raleys. Has had a lot of them as well. Right now probably your best bet is Riverbank State Marsh. They probably have the best selection of bourbon. I’ve seen in a grocery store. If you happen to go there, you might as well go across the street to the riverbank Costco, that Costco probably has the best bourbon selection I’ve ever seen in Costco. Hope that helps brother ! Robert! Short impromptu video coming out in the next day or two. Without giving too much away, I got little sweet tobacco chocolate and just the slightest bit of cinnamon, on the nose. On the palate, warm, simmering, lightly sweetened chocolate, just hint of almond extract with the flavor of a rye spice, without being spicy. Oh, and I sipped on this sucker two days ago and it’s STILL finishing!! Incredible! Hope that helps! Cheer’s brother! 🎄🥃🪓

Dalton! Right on! RR SiB’s are normally really good. If you can get your hands on at least a pour of a Russell’s Private Barrel, that will probably blow your mind on how good it is. I’d say the Baker’s High Rye is pretty good too. I not a huge shelfer Buffalo Trace fan, but the store pick Single Barrel’s can be REALLY Good1. If fact, I have 4 different ones now. Nick! Yeah, Rick and I LOVE to give each other crap. He pretty much says the same thing. I can see where the shelfer 101 may be a little harsh for some, but we normally talk about it in terms of what you’re getting from $18 - $25. 70th Anniversary was definitely better, a little easier to sip, i actually get some vanilla caramel on the palette. Kentucky Spirit, for me, used to be a hit and miss, here and there, but over the last couple of years and depending on the rickhouse, they’ve been good and really good. Russell’s 13 for me has been a letdown after the original release (with was incredible). Russell’s Private Barrel’s are the sweet spot for sure, where Interesting and incredible nose/Palette and price intersect in our favor. Russell’s 15 is just mind blowing, definitely a Bourbon of the year contender. If you don’t own it (really pricey) get a pour if you can! Cheer’s brother! Merry Christmas! 🥃🪓🎄

Man, that sounds like a right up my alley! Was there a few months ago and what a great place to hang out and have a pour. Great people show some video in there and they were very helpful. They reached out just a couple weeks ago after I mentioned that I had their weed Whiskey. And ask if I had any other others. I said I only had the weed and they said that they were gonna send me some stuff, and to my surprise, I got two full bottles of the bottle and bond one bourbon and one rye. The next day or two I’m gonna get into them and review them and give them a shout. I would love to do a follow of my own cast drink though. That sounds incredible! Cheers, brother!🥃🪓

PORT ORCHARD, WA?! that’s my Father-in-Law’s Hometown. Yeah, I’ve gotten to know a few of the Spirit’s manager’s over the last few year’s, the grocery stores as a whole seem to have been picking up the pace in getting some good hooch. And we know, we’re going to get at or very close to normal retail. It’s actually pretty fun to find the bigger named bottles in the grocery stores, right?! cheer’s brother! 🥃🪓

@badaxebourbon that's awesome! Yeah I worked at Safeway in high school, and the front end manager at the time is now the port orchard director! Great guy along with the assistant liquor manager it does pay off building that relationship with department managers at grocery stores. Also if anyone sees this, go to Safeway or Albertsons at 9 and 11 am on the 3rd of each month during allocation season, that will be your best bet imo if your wanting some special stuff! Great Advice Brother. It really is about building relationship’s and also the relationship’s you make with the people you share the Whiskey with. There’s also something gratifying about giving the information about where to get some hard to find bottles, and when they grab them and let you know that they got them, that’s pretty cool.
