A Day on the Lake

A channel for fishing content from lakes around the state of Kentucky and the southeast. Hoping to provide some entertaining and helpful videos for fishermen who enjoy being on the water as much as I do. I mainly focus on bass fishing and try to fish a couple tournaments every month. I am a "weekend warrior" who appreciates every chance I get to take a fishing trip.
I am a much more experienced fisherman than video producer, but I hope to continue improving at both.

Kentucky Lake June 2024
I spent a couple mornings chasing bass on Kentucky Lake in Late June. The heat was unbearable by noon so I only got a few good hours in early then spent some time graphing offshore. I caught these fish on various topwater lures, Crush City Freeloaders, and a few different worms.

We found a couple schools of fish and took full advantage. The majority were caught on Crush City Freeloaders and a Carolina Rig. It was another amazing day on the lake.
Nolin Lake March 2024

We fished the USA Bassin Twin Lakes Division on Nolin. It was a beautiful day to be on the water and the fish were biting. We ended up catching 8 or 9 keepers but only one over 4 pounds. We needed a couple more big bites to cash a check but it was a fun day to be out there.

Rough River Lake June 2023

Fished a little derby on Rough River with Dillon in early June. Ended up with around 10.5 pounds and got the win. We caught most of our keepers flipping boat docks with a shaky head worm, a craw and a jig. We caught lots of fish and it was another great day on the lake.
Nolin Lake May 2023

Spent my birthday fishing on Nolin and caught a ton of fish. We were using Lowrance Active Target to find small groups of fish in 10-15 feet of water and we ended up flipping some stumps and boat docks to upgrade our limit a few times later in the afternoon. We were flipping jigs, spinnerbaits, topwater and Carolina rigs.
Rough River June 2022

This video is from a couple camping trips at Rough River Lake in June of 2022. The fish were biting topwater, a Carolina rig and a jig. We ended up getting a top 5 in a USA Bassin' to end one of the trips. It was a blast even though bigger bites were tough to find.

Spent Derby weekend at Rough River Lake camping with the family. I got out a few hours on Friday and Saturday mornings before the storms rolled in on Sunday. The bass were biting but I struggled to find any keeper-sized fish.

Had some fun at Nolin catching bass on topwater and Carolina rigs. 80 fish were caught over two days but unfortunately they were all similar in size. I plan to be back in July and hopefully find some bigger fish.

Quick clip of my trip to Nolin on May 21, 2022. Just one example of the lack of courtesy I have encountered this year. Some people are either oblivious to the world around them or are just extremely inconsiderate and selfish. These idiots are fortunate I did not cast as they rode by. There are lots of people out there who would have picked up the 2 oz spoon I had laying on the deck and let it fly.
what aspect on the lake with stumps ? i am kayaking fishing i cant find good place to fish because boating and waves.
@@BarrettBiivensfishing the backs of the creeks mostly all have standing timber. There a lot more in the spring when the lake is way down. The back of Red Rock or Conoloway would be good.

If u don’t mind me asking where’s this at on Nolin we have a tournament tomorrow and I’m just trying to figure out what there being caught on.
We fished all over. Conoloway, Dog Creek, Red Rock and another creek near Moutardier. Water has warmed up since then so it's probably changed some but I would fish shallow mud.

I haven't been lately. Looks like it is taking big weights to win but not as many quality fish showing up yet.
They’ve been catching 20 every weekend guy in pre fishing had a 10, 8 and a 7 then weighted 20 pounds next day
Do you fish Cumberland a lot?
Yes, quite a bit. Mostly in late fall and winter.

Caught most on topwater, Carolina Rig and Texas Rig. They were biting lots of different baits.

Great video. I went Tuesday Dec. 20th. didn't do very good. Looks like you caught a lot more than I did. Where did you launch from? What creeks did you dish?
@@bobbyelliott1911 Thanks! I love Lake Cumberland. We stay at a house that is near White Oak and fish that area quite a bit in the fall and winter.

Sorry just now seeing this post. I did not see any whites on my trips to Nolin this spring. I have heard the largemouth are really biting right now though and I plan to get back down there next weekend.
