David in Utrecht! I find him problematic at times, but I would absolutely have gone to this. Unfortunately I moved there 7 years too late. It's a different structure now, though they built around the main hall, if I remember correctly, so he'd recognize that, at least. Love this and Orpheus. When I love one of his songs, I really love it and want to listen on repeat. ;)
dankuwel!
Drink lots of goat milk Kefir. It increases testosterone and gives one an enhanced resonance to their voice ( bigger balls!).
Can anyone id the cool music at the beginning of this interview?
Resonant voice
Cockney twang
Love this guy's South London accent .
Adoro a JAPAN...!! Son tan diferentes de esta primera etapa...a la ultima..!! No obstante me encantan todos sus discos....Y este tema es tan decadente....y fuerte...!! K me chifla.!!
david ❤️

Didnt sound like a band about to break up ,
I bet he hates adolescent sex being played at the beginning of the interview

Ian this most likely my favourite version of my favourite Slyvian track, great sound quality, is it available anywhere?
Not an official release no. Just bootlegs unfortunately.
How do I contact you on this god forsaken platform
Ian, looking to ask you for a link to this?
@@iankenny3151 any chance I could get this bootleg from you?
Nice interview! Thanks for posting.
😊👍👍👍👍👍
One of the best song ever written, in a wonderful live rendition
What month is this from?
So much laughing, but it's hard to tell if that is down to nerves, discomfort with the questions/situation, being tipsy or genuine humour. Oh, to have been a fly on the wall...
In the first interview David says he doesn't have an image. Of course he had an image during that time. I was attracted to the band when I first saw a picture of them in Star Hits magazine in the 80's, and I hadn't heard any of their music at all. I had read in various Duran Duran interviews that Nick Rhodes and John Taylor had been influenced by Japan, so that is how I first heard of them. Found the Assemblage album in a record store one day in '84 so I bought it. Wasn't very impressed with the early stuff, but when I first heard Life In Tokyo and European Son I knew that I had found a great band, who quickly became one of my very favorites, and still are today.
My New Career - what a beautiful song.
I think the first interview is probably from 1982 because he's talking about singles from the Tin Drum album, whereas the second interview (starting at about 3 mins 45 secs) is definitely from 1984. Two separate interviews in my opinion.
Beautiful update to a modern classic!
I love this song!
early japan gets given a lot of shit but this is quite something
early japan was AMAZING
Fabulous!
Is the song before the end by YMO?
pure goose bump...
One of my favorite songs =)
Willian Mendes Truly stunning!
Mick Karns - WOW...what a Hidden & VERY Unique Talent! I'm stunned at his note-bending/note choices without knowing how to read music, & application of woodwinds in such an innovative style. I wish I had known about him earlier. He was clearly a huge influence on Nick Beggs (Kajagoogoo bassist) whom I admire very much as well. Thank-you, Mick, for staying true to your artistic beliefs & style. Your contribution to the music world is rich & significant. May you rest in peace & create more in Heaven.
Divine music...Out of this world...The greatest musician ever!Simple and plain!
Classic radio interview
Brilliant!
