Legend 🎉🎉
Loved this man and still do. Wonderful interview. Bobby Latchford walks on water ....
I was there that night v Bayern, a night I’ll never forget👍👍👍
Did he have a brother Peter??? Played in goals???
We were so crap in the mid 70s, my friends and I, used to have to get drunk before the match.......in the Chelsea Drug Store, Kings road.
NAC 1984
Bob's obviously smarter than the average footballer. What a refreshing change.
Ken Bates is a dodgy conman
His brother played in goal for blues and the other Peter played in goal for the baggies
I was 16 during that amazing season. So brilliant football performed by the lads. Loved to watch them on the telly, when danish tv showed them. Lots of goals and good and solid football played both away and at home. Became a fan of the Blues back in ´77 after the 6-0 game against Coventry on Goodison. Latch, King and Thomas were my favorites. Later on lots of others, Southall, Sharp and Ferguson.. Most of my life has passed now, I´m 55 and my heart still belongs to Everton FC.
The impact of the ban on English player's development was massive...Gary Stevens, was possibly the best right back in 1985 in the country, the exclusion from Europe hit his development very noticeably..
Greatest team ever.!!
Ian Crook is my hero. Bobby Robson is a God. John Wark could do one if he wasn't such a nice bloke. (One of the only Ipswich players I wouldn't mind a pint with) David Marshall is forgiven...nearly Til next time...enjoy VAR Yellows!
I met my hero Bob Latchford a few years back and wasn't disappointed, lovely man and great striker
Good old Ken Bates he saved chelsea
WHERES OUR MONEY IN BUCKETS GONE THEN TRIED TOO FRAZZLE US WITH POXY FENCES SLAG !!!!!
Looking good Bob! I remember it well…… I remember when you played for us (the toffees) every corner we won was as good as a goal-you were there to nod the ball into the back of the net! Thank you for the memories xxxx
Such a shame liverpool at the time was more successful 😂😂😂😂,,,, scouse red
Its great they are All still with us. Gary steven Johny from the karate kid 🙂.
We were beating Man u and Arsenal by 5 and 6 in that season. Its hard to emphasize exactly how formidable we were really.. .An air of invincibilty EVERY game at one point. Linekar was great for us, but while other teams were still nervous of being embarrassed, i think it was REAL fear when Andy grey was with us. Defenders were bloody terrified of him. 💯🙏.. ALL of them, fantastic players.
This story is close to home as my dad was also an ill man who befriended Brooks. My dad and I (being a little boy) would follow Gretna up and down Scotland through their promotions. Unfortunately my dad died within months of Brooks and the memories will only ever be beautiful ones for me. As a boy I got to whiteness one of the best stories in football and the back end stuff hets forgotten. Gavin, Rowan, Kenny, James. You men were hero’s to me as young lad and I thank you for everything you gave to Gretna.
Great side, best team to never win the European cup, that side would have won it back to back.
As a Birmingham City fan, I grew up with the forward line of Francis. Latchford and Hatton. Never been bettered.
Met Bob at a sports shop he owned in Formby, back in the day. I was just a kid but he was super nice. Sadly the autograph he gave me has long been lost but like the other post mentioned, I remember him getting to that magic 30 goals tally.. COYB
We was fucking brilliant back then
ALL WAYS SHIT ON THE OLD BLUE N WHITE 😂😂😂
one of the times that i can actually say " i was there" was when he scored his 30th goal. He looked older then than he does now hahaha my hero
This Everton team gave me the best years of being an evertonian, thank you all and God bless you all.
Well done for finding some colour footage of Ipswich beating Norwich!

Back in the seventies, the Mormans knocked on my mums door, stupidly I answered it, after a few minutes I dragged them up to my bedroom and showed them the post of Bob Latchford on my wall and told them this is my God, I then tried to convert them into Everton supporters 🙂 They couldn't get out of the house quick enough and strangley enough they never called again 🙂
Pathetic attitude to Harding
Watched him score against my team Man City at Everton be around 1977 we drew 1-1 with Everton. I was staying with a friend in Liverpool who I’d met on holiday in wales and his dad took us both to watch the match..
What a brilliant centre forward in his day, I seem to remember nobody had scored 30 goals in the league for years before Bob done it, hard as nails as well.
Clinical finisher and looks like he could still get in the current team.
Regular at Goodison from early 60s and saw Bob in his first full season there, 1974-75. Signed by Billy Bingham in Feb 1974 he led the blues to the top of the league in April 75 only to lose to lowly Carlisle, and 3-2 at home to Sheffield United after leading 2-0 at half time. Which cost them the title That side was well served by Martin Dobson, Dave Clements, Gary Jones, Mike Lyons and Roger Kenyon. I saw the blues get great results at Derby then a great side, Spurs, Leeds and Man City all top teams If they had won three more games the title was theirs instead Liverpool came through to start their domination. Bob and Gordon Lee's sides played also played well in the league and FA cup 77, 80. and 81. What would todays team be like if they had Bob in an around the opposition penalty area ? He did after all: Walk on Water !
Back in the day I had a pal who was an Evertonian. He once said the Latchford was deceptive. He was even slower than he looked. 😂
I wish he was still here
Yellows Yellows Yellows 💛💚💛💚💛💚💛
Brillant Brillant team that Everton side mid to late eighties... loved watching that great team.. ONE OF THE GREAT TEAMS OF THE OLD FIRST DIVISION..
traitor. KRO
Knew albert at turner mfg showell road many years hope he is ok xx
I'm Albert's grandson. He is still well, although he had a stroke a little earlier this year
What's he doing in Nuremberg?
I was studying at the then Wolves Poly- I'm from Newcastle and had been a season ticket holder since '88/9. I had a few wolves pals at game as I was in gallowgate and knew i'd be ribbed mercilessly when I got back to Wolves after xmas holidays- was a nightmare as a toon fan but happy for my Wolves pals!! NUFC
When i was a kid i remember the Latchford @everton card, in the collection of division 1 footballers was the one to have! He was a goalscorer supreme. And i always followed spurs.
It's bad when the best in England doesn't have the opportunity to play in the European cup
Great team. To get the better of that unbelievable Liverpool side of the 80s twice showed their class. Southall was the best keeper in the world.
As a young 16 year old Watching Everton win all the time, it just seemed normal winning leagues and cups . Pity I didn't continue. NSNO 1878.
My first game at Goodison Bob scored 5 v Wimbledon in a league cup game 👍
My 79 year old father who suffers Alzheimer's still talks about the 'best I've ever seen down St Andrews' in regards to Bob Latchford ❤
