£700m. Utter waste of time and trouble, as the line needs four tunnels and four platforms in both directions, and not at all stations due to cross-platform exchanges. As ever, like King’s Cross, it will become so overwhelming, that LU will have to shut the gates due to safety concerns. Only good thing to come of it will be the cross level interchange between the sub-surface lines. But well done Mark Wild LU’s M.D. when it does open. And the land outside this new building should have opened up more space for that bus station.

I used to live in 10 Halkin Street from 1966 to 1984 - My dad was caretaker of the offices when it was leased to the SMMT. It's been used in quite a few films and TV shows like Spooks. I went to St Peters school at the bottom of Lower Belgrave Street. I'm actually in the process of writing a book about my unusual childhood
