Nice and accurate drive from Madalena to Lajes. My late wife is from Lajes and already in the 1980tis we always would take a taxi after arriving first at Faial airport down to Horta and than with the boat to Madalena. Than by taxi from Madalena to Lajes. There was than still no airport on Pico island. Now most people rent a car arriving at Pico airport. Know the main road well and is as you have shown a nice drive along the vineyards, Atlantic Ocean and passing through a number of small villages. Thanks for this nice road trip to Lajes, well done!!

Actually it's a shitty place where there are no jobs and rent for ordinary people (not tourists), neither normal, large and clean beaches.

Was once in Obertauern for skiing, and also in summer. The region is very beautiful and offers a lot of things to do also in summer, like hiking and mountainbiking, but the village looked more or less like a ghost town, they are really concentrated on winter tourism. Many other ski resorts in Austria found possibilities to atract visitors also in summer, hope the situation will change also here.
