Good job
any idea of my problem? when you turn the key all the lights start flickering and it wont start
@@numatechprototypes222 bad battery connection or ground issue?
@@fedadabass no the bats are good, but all power flickers constantly when the key is turned? and then when trying to start there's not enough power to crank, even though the battery's are good and topped off. the code reader cant connect so I'm thinking probably its the ecm
@ or its a short in the dash cluster
@@numatechprototypes222 I'd absolutely suspect a cluster but it should still run. Even with no cluster it will start. Go through the grounds, put a volt meter and check the voltage drop when cranking. Maybe something is shorting out
@@numatechprototypes222 with the key off, unplug the starter s wire from the passenger fender by the fan, round connector and touch it on the battery. It will crank with no computer or anything. If it does crank, start disabling systems by pulling relays or fues.
Have got a turbo removal and install video
We need to see some stars in the video
Last 7.3 diesel engine went into the super duty in 2003.
I don't know where you got that five hundred thousand is broken in no such thing no such animal
It will start in neutral
Just put it in neutral
Tape around the boost air pipe? K&N air filter? Who knows if the fuel bowl heater is working and maybe not the glowplugs? Poor truck in the wrong hands. If you thought that was rough when starting, you should hear my Cat on a cold day.
how did you fix the issue ? I'm having the same problem with my 2020, but advance trac light is on and it stop working. could it be because my truck k in lint mode ?????
It’s a broken exhaust rocker arm. The thud you are hearing is exhaust coming out the intake since the exhaust valve does not open and only the intake valve opens thus having the exhaust shoot out into the intake.
Were you injecting air thru the ipr hole? If so, the air was going right to the crankcase.
What was it mine sounds like that
@@bluecord2008 bent valve
@@bluecord2008 due to a bad brand new injector
Getting the exact same for my truck right now...

I have the same thing. How much to fix?
Holy crap that shop is a dump.
How do you check hpop with J pipe?
@@mikeches7992 I made another video on that 03 style. Take the pipe off the pump and air it up with a blow gun. Make a bung outta tape or whatever, fab something up. If u gotta spare j tube you could weld a fitting on it and really seal it up.
@@fedadabass the thing is I bought new BOSCH HPOP , cover upper hole blow air through button hole and saw some oil comming out from the shaft where the gear is between gear and pump body..it was only about 100 psi...my question is IS IT STILL A GOOD HPOP OR ITS a failure?!
@@mikeches7992 I have a video of a brand new pump from ford that failed in 100km. Check your low pressure supply and make sure it's good. I also like to crank it for a long time to get a good prime and avoid air pockets.
@@fedadabass how do I check it?
What was the issue
So what was the issue? I’m running into the same problem after changing my compressor
When I do this test there is air coming out or the bottom hole behinnd the gear wheel is that normal ? Or I have a bad hopp ??
Me too
If its new its prob wrong spacer
So there should be no air coming out of the oil filter housing with the filter removed? If so, the HPOP is toast?
Shame. Thats atleast 35 hours of labor.
I’ve got a 6.7 that’s having electrical issues..got me stumped…
That's a 99 to 01 with that Dash
That's a 2007 to 2010 dash and seats
Not an 06 with a 7.3
You motor swap it I thought 7.3 stopped in 03 when they went to the 6.0
sorry but there are no spools in a HEUI Injector! The popit valve seat may leak from dirty oil wear but there are no spools to stick.
Gotta love the resourcefulness no hoist no problem make it work anyway you can thanks for inspiring me to another level of anything is possible
Ford....America's rust buckets
Very good video! Could you please tell me what diagnostic system you use. I'm looking for a new one for my shop. I really like the one you use, it seems to show what the problem is and what needs to be replaced.
Thanks man, looking back I should have addressed low pressure oil issues aswell. I use autoenginuity for a general scan tool, it's pretty good for dodge n gm stuff too but I'm using the free version of forscan now allot. I'd definitely recommend that one for diag on powerstrokes. It seems to do everything and more than autoenginuity. Get into that for under 30 bucks and any old laptop.
Ill save you time. Ditch the trash 6.0. Buy a Cummins.
Great job
Did you figure out what was wrong?
Excellent video. I have a 99, 7.3 with 290k that's running great. Want to keep it that way. Had start problems (-30°), new block heater fixed that. Thinking of a new (reman) ICM, just because of age and miles, maybe increase mpg. Thanks to your video, now have other things to check!
Promo'SM 🔥
Did it start to start easier? Could putting straight Archoil in hpop damage injectors?
The 99 steering wheel lol
Hey thanks for sharing... whats that software is that available?
Dude give us a description of what vehicle it is.
Ya I'm bad for that eh... I just assume anyone who watches my videos know what thier looking at I guess. I'm getting better these days, I work on 99+ superduties mostly. Need to work on my presentation and editing for sure!
That's awesome make a video of the swap
Got a 2001 f2shity 7.tree with 890 thousand miles all original and still stroking...one of the easiest diesel to ever work on...13 letter shitspreader INTERNATIONAL best diesel ever made...
Perfect name for a dog that looks like a raccoon 😂
And you show T5 oil? T6!
It's T6! Got a Crack in your phone screen? Lol. But thanks, I do these on the fly as I'm working and don't edit so I do often make mistakes and always wonder when someone will call me on it! Your more than welcome to pic on my other videos I do appreciate the feedback
It’s gonna take a hell of a lot more than that to keep a ford diesel running let alone in cold weather even the only decent diesel they put in their trucks the 7.3 struggled in the cold you either let it run all winter or keep it in a heated garage
You are absolutely right!. Exspensive but worth it!.
I have a can of ether
No thanks, I don't want to make a hobby out of fixing my truck. Went ahead and found me a 5.9l 12 valve Cummins in a 3500 Ram chassis.
The best fix I ever did to my 6.0 was sell it, and bought a 5.9 Cummins
Looks like the left has a built in oil restrictor while the right assumes your turbo has the restrictor.
Or... just put in any other engine ever... just saying.
Glad my 6.0 came from Chevy. I will never need any of the high dollar products listed here. 300k miles same injectors, never needed glow plugs, no friction modifiers, no injection pump... Best $2500 craigslist find to date 5 years ago.
You’re glazing a engine that’s actually an isuzu 🤣
@@fernandosantiago1679 Chevy 6.0 is not even a diesel - nor actually an isuzu.
